    Hi, I'm new

My name is Carol. I have only been quilting for less than a year. After retiring from pharmaceutical research, I purchased an embroidery/ sewing machine. I have enjoyed embroidering for about 5 years. I had wanted to start piecing quilts and the impending birth of our 3rd grandchild was my incentive. I made a 2-sided baby quilt with the theme based on the book, The Giving Tree, using some embroidery and machine appliqué. I pieced the quilt and our retired pastor, who married our daughter and son-in-law, machine quilted it for us. That was pretty special!

Since completing that quilt I have made 4 more quilts. I just can't stop! I am starting a new throw-sized quilt t
For my mother for Mother's Day.

Missouri Star Quilts is feeding my addiction through their great website and beautiful new publication, Block!

Love your quilts! Combining embroidery with piecing is always nice. Check out the Embroidery Group here on the forum. I'm sure you'll find some interesting things there.
