    Tennessee novice

Hi- I'm Jo Anne, newly introduced to quilting and wondering what took me 78 years to get to this stage. I am now officially addicted since despite my better judgement I have just purchased two new projects before I finished the last one. At this point, my stash runneth over. I love MSQC and can't start my day without Jenny's words of wisdom.
Right now I am looking for patterns using charm packs- other than just plain squares. Any suggestions?

Welcome! I'm a Tennesseean, too. I love that you've gotten so involved in quilting at this stage of your life. I'm 65 and just now really getting into it, although I had made a few quilts many years ago. Not with any passion, though. Now, I feel like I'm running a race - trying to catch up while I can still thread a needle! Looking forward to seeing your finished projects.

Welcome aboard from another Tennessean! I'm from East TN near the Great Smoky Mountains. I'm 76 and have been addicted to this craft for many years. It is an addiction!

Welcome from central Missouri. And the first step is accepting you're addicted. This is one addiction you don't have to try to kick.

Welcome from West Tennessee. Will you be attending the Paducah quilt show? I love going there and seeing all the newest goodies!

                Welcome from Florida!

My favorite pattern for charm packs is the disappearing 9 patch (also called D9P). If you haven't already done so, check out Jenny's new tutorial today using the M* tumbler ruler.

                  Hi there!

Ooooh. Great question! Sometimes I like the look of a 4 patch with a frame around it.. Or a 4 patch on point! From the new Missouri Star mag called Block there is a cool design using a charm pack where the corners are clipped and it looks like a flower. I think it was called flower garden.

The disappearing 9 patch is a lot of fun. It looks like you put so much work into it... I did it for a Fall wall hanging last year and I loved it!

I went to the museum twice last year- once for the annual competition and then again to see the Civil War display. It was amazing, just like being in a candy store.
