    Sienna's GiGi

Hi! I'm Sienna's grandmother. I shouldn't be a grandmother right now but surprise surprise. I am married with four kids - all adults except for one. I am a soldier deployed to Afghanistan. It is not a bad place from where I am. I am a self taught quilter and I love to sew. My sewing machine made it in theater two weeks before my equipment and yours truly did. I have a quilting group I formed here that make quilts for Afghan kids. We love it. We just had out first quilting "bee" with some Afghan women from the Kabul area. It was the highlight of my deployment so far. I have made lots of quilting friends since I started in Aug 2010. This hobby is just what I needed in my life. God knew exactly what I needed and I am thankful for finding such good positive people to share with. I am going home to the U.S in June around the time the Columbus Quilt Festival (Ohio) starts and I am so excited because it is my first "quilting" event. I live in Mannheim, Germany so the places to buy quilting supplies and fabric is limited so I am so happy to be going home. ~Erika.
