Hi from the UK

Hi everybody. My name is Lorraine and I'm a newbie quilter. I've been watching the MSQC's vids on YouTube for a couple of weeks now and Jenny has me all fired up, so I thought I'd pop along and join you.

I've spent years papercrafting but I'm so fed up with it so before Christmas, I went back to my dressmaking. A few weeks ago, something made me take an interest in quilting so I made my granddaughter a pillowcase and my grandson a simple lap quilt. I am now making myself a proper, full sized quilt and boy oh boy! It is HARD with a capital H.

As a dressmaker, I honestly thought "how hard can it be to sew a few patches of fabric together." I can't believe how difficult it can be. The precision..well!

Anyway, that's enough from me. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and learning loads.

Hi Lorraine and welcome to the forum. I have not been quilting for too long and still learning every day. Fortunately there is always helpful friendly advice on here so jump in. By the way. As you can see I am from Winthorpe so probably not too far from you? :-)

Thanks ladies. I must admit, I've spent more time browsing this forum in the last couple of days than any other place, lol.

Not sure that you'll be enough to actually keep my off my machine though, ha ha.

I know I'm going to need loads of help but don't want to dive in with problems straight away, lol.
