    Hello

Well we sure do have snow here in Ct. ! I am new on this but have been looking at quilt ideas for a year now for my son and future daughter in laws wedding present. I would really appreciate some ideas. Did I say REALLY loud enough? I'm not confidant about picking a design at all.
Teals , browns , cream and paisley is what she wants. She doesn't like" old fashion things" and doesn't like the look of Amish quilts. Stars.... not so much..... and she wants it to be a surprise.
I have made a few complete quilts and a few unfinished things too. I have taught Family and Consumer Science classes for 30 years. I am currently teaching foods and nutrition. I looked at log home magazines for years and now live in a log home I started 5 years ago. I made sure to have a bedroom that is really my sewing room!
I love looking at the tutorials and learning new ways to do things. I love to garden and keep a few chickens.
If you made a quilt for a wedding present can you tell me what you made? Did I miss a thread that had this already ? Any and all suggestions welcomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabric idea for the paisley anyone?
Thank you for any help you can give me

First of all, welcome to the forum! Have you seen the new Zipper Quilt tutorial? That would be nice for a young couple and has a contemporary look to it. The Falling Charms is an easy and attractive quilt made from charm squares. The Disappearing 9 Patch (D9P) seems to go over well with everyone also. Barb

        Welcome from Florida!

Sounds like you shouldn't have too much trouble pleasing her. There are several fabric lines that incorporate those colors, some of my favorites, too. She probably wouldn't like the entire "Lydia" line, it is a little "old fashioned", but maybe some of the fabrics in the line could be used. You could also choose fat quarters and look at some of the "turning twenty" patterns. They are pretty simple and more modern looking.

Good Luck and let us know what you decide!
