    Hello from Western North Carolina

Good morning! I have been "stalking" this forum for quite some time now trying to absorb all this wonderful information. I bought my first sewing machine about a year ago, (took wood and metal shop in high school) after stumbling across Jenny's tutorials on YouTube. Bought a layer cake on the DD one day and decided on the Double Slice Layer Cake. It has taken quite a while just to finish the top due to "life" happening. I finally finished the top but don't think I'm quite ready to complete it myself just yet. My goal is to have it finished by the end of February though.

A bit about me - I am and elementary school teacher (4th grade and loving it), been married to my hubby for 21 years and have a 19 year old son in college. We moved to the mountains of WNC less than 2 years ago and love it.

I would like to tell each and every one of you "Thank you" for sharing so much with those of us (me) who still have to use an owner's manual just to thread the machine!!! Posting all of your pictures and your words of encouragement to each other are such an inspiration. Even though I haven't posted until today, I've kept up with so much and already feel like I know a bit about so many of you. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hi Mina........welcome to the forum! Glad you found us. If you aren't ready to tackle finishing your quilt right now.........maybe try a table runner or something else small for more practice. Hope you have a great time......we will have you addicted to quilting in no time at all!
