    Hi I'm Mia from California

    ]Hello everyone.....

My name is Mia and I live in central California. I've been sewing for years but recently became interested in quilting. I cannot find quilting classes close to home and I'm so excited to see the MSQC's tutorials. Jenny is an awesome instructor. Yesterday as I was watching her tutorials I found one that I loved but this morning I cannot locate it. I thought the name was something like " Disappearing Nine Patch", but that's not working in a search. Can anyone help, please?

Hi Mia! I'll welcome you to the forum - wish I could help locate the Disappearing Nine Patch - looked but couldn't find it either and I know it's there somewhere. I think she calls it something else. I am making 2 table runners now using that technique. I made one with 3" squares and one with 6" squares. You turn them into a nine patch and then cut through the middle vertically and hortizonally - sew them the way you want your blocks to lay out and you have a quilt top. I just played with the fabrics so really don't have any exact amounts of how much fabric you should start with and maybe her tutorial has a precise measurement for the size blocks you should use - am hoping someone on here can point you in the right direction for those two things you really should have if you are a beginner quilter. If you don't get an answer, maybe you could google directions for it and someone on a blog might have it out there.

    Again, welcome!

That is so strange - I just saw this tutorial last week! I checked through everything too. The directions from quilting trish should help.
