    Just joined today! :)

    Hello from British Columbia, Canada!

I am a woman in my 50's living in BC with my husband who is newly retired. That has freed me up to get back into some quilting! I live near Vancouver ina small town, so quilting keeps me busy during the many rainy months we have here.

We have no kids, but have many hobbies. We enjoy travelling, cooking, crafting and making music together...mostly Americana, folk, bluegrass, country blues and old time. I also love to bake and make candy! This summer I made my own sourdough starter and have learned to bake sourdough bread, buns, crumpets, English muffins, buns, crackers and stickie buns.

I had dabbled in quilting years ago and am just getting back into it. I had been watching Jenny and Rob's tutorials on YouTube and that lead me here. I'm about to attempt my next project...my very first bed quilt. Yikes!! Until now I have just done small projects. I just finished a double 9 patch baby quilt (my profile picture) for a dear friend who is expecting her first grandbaby this fall. It was my first "person" quilt, and good practice before making my bed quilt. I learned a whole lot through the process and can't wait to do more. I'm very much looking forward to meeting and learning from all of you!

    Warmest regards,

    Hike

Thanks Carlie! They were scraps left over from a teapot cozy project I'm working on for myself. The back is a flannel crib sheet I cut up.

Welcome from Trenton, Ontario. We lived in Victoria, B.C. for a few years. It's beautiful there. Lack of health care was terrible, but the rain was okay. I missed the 4 seasons, and we sure get those here. Stay safe and healthy =)

Thank you! You as well! The rain is definitely ok if you are a quilter. Nothing like being warm and cozy with a mug of tea sewing inside when it's pounding with rain outside. Glad you lkke your new home.
