    New member here from alexander, N.C.

    Hi all !
    I love to sew......hand or machine, anything unusual and outside the box. Have a husband of 40 years, 2 sons, 2 grandaughters. I live on a farm and my husbands barn is bigger than the cottage we live in, but guess whats in the attic of the barn? Plastic totes sorted with fabric. I repair sewing machines, love the singer 221 s. I sew on a Bernina and I enjoy all the stitches, but for that PERFECT straight stitch the Singer 221 is a must!
    Always ready to learn and willing to help when its needed. Love my Lord and serving His people.

    Welcome, abdconsultant! I have a sister who lives in New Bern NC and we made it there to see her and her family a couple of years ago... we thought NC was beautiful.

    You'll love this site. Please share pictures of your sewing in "Show and Tell", we love pics!

      Welcome abdconsultant. You will love the tutorials here. Jenny is brilliant and such a good teacher. She makes everything easy. And what she teaches works very well. Hope you enjoy it here, it's the best site on the web.

        Welcome abdconsultant. I too am a newbee and I am already hooked on this site. Can't get my housework done playing around on it. Oh well. I was wondering if you knew anything about embroider machines?? Brother to be exact. Anyway I will keep in touch. I am in Ky.

            Excited to meet you. I, too, repair sewing machines (refurbish I call it), and just purchased two 221s - one from the 1930's and one from the 1950's. Awaiting (anxiously, I must say) their arrival. I have a total of 10 old Singers (counting the 221s). One is from 1892, 1900+-, 1916, 1932, 1942, 1954, (2) 99s from 1956 . . . dates are approximate - I'm trying to do this off the top of my head and I do need a better 'memorizer' installed.

              Welcome!! oh how jealous am I that you have an entire attic full of wonderful fabrics!! I would just die.....LOL....
