1) Go to "settings" at the top right of the screen while logged in
2) Click on "edit avatar" on the left hand column
3) Either upload a picture from your hardrive or find a site with a picture you like.

Hey Shell,
I tried to do the same thing (create a custom avatar). I resized the picture before trying to upload, and I am getting an invalid file error message. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

I got the same message and am trying to upload a pic 75 X 75 so size is not the issue.

Hi girls
I think it is the easiest at this forum to upload your images - pics, avatars ~ etc from a photo keeping site like picture trail or photo bucket or whichever you use the most. Once you have your images in your site, then copy the "http:url address" and paste it in here. You will be prompted to add image. Notice that you will see a box appear with a line and "http" . Merely click paste and your url will be entered there.
I have not been successful with uploading from my hard drive. Only from photo saving sites.

Good luck

It must be me, Blondie, because I couldn't load it from a website either.

Hmmm, Dee. I am stumped. Why not send an email to the administrator? I am certain they would love to help you out. Really. They are the bestest.

Re: Picture

There is definitely a problem with the File Upload Manager. I sent an email to BillNYE over the weekend, maybe we will hear something this week. The error message of "invalid file" keeps coming up on any image I try to import either from my computer or from a website. I know the file sizes and image type are correct because I have tried to import pics that I have already loaded to my albums on this site and now they get the error message too.

The only way I can currently post an image is by using the HTML format of and embed an image from my Photobucket site into a forum post. I cannot post any images into my albums using the File Upload Manager no matter what format I try.

Actually I think it has been like this for a bit now, I had to use the HTML code to load the last two photos I put in a post and even though I had resized them one was the right size and one was very large. It was odd but I didn't think too much about it at the time.
