    Featherweight Playday update

Bernice got to talk with Little Jean today. The proposed date for the playday is January 20, 2015. We can use the Retreat Center, although we might have to share it with some other stitchers (no one scheduled at this point). It would be likely someone who came and wanted to sew as customers are allowed to use the center.

There will be no charge for the day. I'm sure we can have a rotary cutter, cutting mat, iron and ironing board there. I imagine we can even have a ruler there. I don't know if Jenny will be there or not.

We have a couple of options for lunch. We can each bring a dish and have a pot luck or we can go to one of the local restaurants and bring it back and eat together. Let me know what everyone would prefer.

Bernice said when she talked to Jenny about the Featherweight Playday, Jenny was really excited and thought they might even try to turn it into a 4 or 5 day Retreat in the future.

So in summary, we will plan on meeting on January 20, 2015 at 10am for open sewing during our Featherweight Playday! There is no charge, just a group of stitchers having fun.

If anyone has any ideas of things we need to do or would be fun, let me know.

Mark your calendar, load that little bitty Featherweight into the car and head North. We'll leave the light on for you.

I make the most fantastic Italian soup - mild Italian Sausage, Cannellini beans, potatoes, tomatoes, and lots of Kale. It is great with garlic bread and optional 4-Cheese on top . . . I'll be most happy to make a gigantic potful if all our friends agree. Heckfire shoot, I'll even bring the bread, bowls, etc.

I tried to call back today to confirm our date choice but could not get an answer. I am going back up tomorrow for the lightning ceamoney so will try to find Anna and have her put us on the calendar. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Thanks Bob for the wonderful idea.

It was suggested that if we ask really nice Bernice's Bob would come and be available to service or check out any Featherweights that need it.

We also need to tell Li'l Jean that Jean Anne (her 3/4 size Singer) is more than welcome to come join us!!

Bob is planning on being there as he has his own featherweight. He will be happy to bring his repair kit.

I'd like to come but the timing just isn't good for me. Maybe next time...

I am so sad...I don't have a featherweight...or any singer for that matter. Oh how I wish I did, so I could come play with you all.

Come and play, I'll let you borrow my retro Singer! She sings pretty well, too! Sally Singer is her name!
