2020 Missouri Star Academy Registration June 10-11

The 2020 Missouri Star Academy Registration is now open. There are 4 different tracks this year to choose from. Check out all four to decide which one is your favorite - one of the hardest choices which one to choose.

    From the registration page:

Missouri Star Academy is back again this June and we’ve partnered with some of the best in the business for two wonderful days of fun and learning. This year MSA will be held from June 10th to the 11th, hosted right here at our hometown elementary school in Hamilton. Welcome back to school!

    Who: You’re Invited!

    What: Missouri Star Academy

Where: Hamilton Elementary School 7650 NW Harley Rd, Hamilton, MO 64644

    When: June 10th and 11th, 2020

    Why: Learn more about quilting!

Missouri Star Academy isn’t like regular school; it’s an awesome school for the coolest quilters around! If you couldn’t wait for the bell to ring back in the day, just wait, you won’t want these fun classes to end. They’re taught by some of your favorite quilt designers including Edyta Sitar, Monique Jacobs, Jason Yenter, Karen Miller, Sherri Falls, Edie McGinnis, Tammy Silvers, Blair Stockton, Misty Doan, Natalie Doan Earheart, Hillary Doan Sperry, and many more! Ann Hazelwood will also be in attendance to sign books.

Shine your shoes, sharpen your pencils, and pack your backpack because school is in session June 10th and 11th at Hamilton Elementary School. Early registration begins on June 9th for the first arrivals. Then, on the 10th, general registration opens at 7:30 am. Orientation is at 9 am the same day with classes starting at 10 am. Classes run from 10 am to 4 pm on Wednesday and Thursday.

As a new feature, this year students will be able to choose their own custom “track.” There will be 4 different tracks to choose from and each track has different instructors. In addition to this, MSA will include a trunk show featuring Jenny Doan, the fabulous host of our YouTube tutorials, on Wednesday night for all tracks to attend.

During your track, you will have one period of “recess” as well as one period of charity sewing. When it’s recess time, you can check out demos in the shop, listen in on the presenter in the gymnasium, visit the Missouri Quilt Museum, browse the shops, relax, and do whatever your heart desires!

The charity sewing class will be held at the Sewing Center. If your track has a class that uses a sewing machine, it will be held at the newly renovated Education Center. All other classes will be held at the elementary school. Missouri Star Academy will end with a short graduation ceremony on Thursday at 4 pm to celebrate all that you’ve learned in two days!

Our favorite trolley will also be back to shuttle guests to and from Hamilton to the elementary school. All students will receive a nifty swag bag filled with goodies, a custom lanyard, and a commemorative T-shirt as well as a delicious lunch on both days.

If you’re wondering about snacks, we’ll make sure there are plenty of options! Fan-favorite Erv will be at MSA selling his Amish fried pies and a local group will be selling coffee, drinks, and snacks from 8 am to 2 pm daily at the elementary school. There will also be a goodwill donation dinner held on Wednesday night from 4-7 pm at the United Methodist Church, which will support several community organizations. Attendance to this dinner is optional.

Students looking for lodging can go to for a list of options. There are many nice rentals, B&Bs, hotels, and even RV parks to choose from.

We can’t wait to see you!
