    New machine

I had a Singer Futura that didn't live up to the name. Nothing but problems from day one. SO, after 4 years of fighting with the machine DH decided it was time to replace it. SO, the search began. There are SO many different machines out there with different options and capabilities. I went to sewing forums and asked questions. I read reviews on line. I went to several different sewing machine stores and tried different machines out. Then I started narrowing it down by what I wanted the machine to do. Quilting was a no brainer, but I also decided I wanted it to be able to embroider. I have a quilt in my mind that I want to do with extensive embroidery on it. So that narrowed my choices down quite a bit. After literally weeks of research and trying machines out I decided to go with the Brother line and purchased the Brother DreamWeaver XE Innov-is 6200D. I purchased it from a great shop and with it comes unlimited classes. (The technology in these machines can be quite intimidating). I am scheduled to pick it up next Weds. AFTER they give me a two hour class on it. I insisted on a class because I want to make sure I'm comfortable with using it BEFORE I got it home. I'm been without a machine for a month and I am dying to get back to my projects.

Does anyone have the machine? WHat do you think about it?

Congratulations! I've been doing a lot of research, too, and Brother does seem to give you a lot for your buck... Have fun with your new toy.... That's a nice machine....

Congrats. I just recently was looking at that one. I like the one without embroidery only because I do not plan on doing any.

I would love to hear your review of it after you are using it for a while.

      Have lots of fun!

I have the dream creator. no embroidery. I love it. Lots of bells and whistles, but the best , for right now, is , when the needle comes unthreaded it tells you to check the upper thread path and stops sewing. Also tells you bobbin low, and mine has about 24 inches of thread left when it stops. I learn something new on it everyday.

I've been trying to figure out how to get it to do that. For what it cost it should serve and clean up too.
              But I still love it!

I don't have this machine but I've read about it and watched a video and it looks like a great machine and I think you'll be really happy with it.

oh yea, don't forget the "pivot" button. really nice to sew along and when you stop sewing the needle goes down and the foot raises. Adjust the fabric and start sewing again, no need to mess with the foot at all.
