Received as a Christmas present from husband. 12 days later in the shop circuit board fried. Was told could take up to 4 weeks for it to be repaired because Singer is slow in sending parts needed because they come from overseas. You can’t imagine how frustrated I was hearing this so called where he purchased the machine and was sent a new machine. Have been using the decorative stitches on the machine and have lost a spool of thread due to it twisting and cutting the thread. Anyone interested in buying this machine think twice before spending the money. I grew up using Singer machines but I will never purchase another.

Re: Singer Stylist 9960
I hve the same machine and have no problems so far.....I think it is a hit or miss with these to tell the truth ... there is another thread on these same machines about this problem. I bought mine off of ebay and if i remember right the ones bought off of amazon were having the problems. Where did you buy your from? You wouldn't think it would matter but maybe if they were bought all at the same place they got a bad batch?:icon_wave::icon_woohoo:Kellie:icon_hi:

Re: Singer Stylist 9960
I've had my 9960 for over 2 years now and haven't had any problems with it.. (knock on wood) I use it almost daily but it is not my go to for everything machine. I have the warranty, just in case. It was purchased thru Ebay... just hope it is one of the "good ones".
I actually love this machine.. it's so quiet and has all the bells & whistles one needs to make sewing FUN. But my 500C Singer is the top dog and it is loud enough to let everyone know!! It's a work horse, but NO FRILL on it. And I've kept my older machine (20 years New) for a great back up..Judy

Re: Singer Stylist 9960
I'm sorry to read about your problems and hope you get them sorted out.
I have had one of these since July last year and no problems (touch wood). I think it's a very impressive machine for the price.~: Ron :~
