    Baby PUL fabric ?

I thought that I saw someone here on the forum uses the Baby PUL for backings on her baby quilts. Joann's has this on sale today and I might make a trip over there.

Can anyone tell me a little about this fabric? Is it soft. Do you need to wash first, like flannel? How does it handle?

That has a plastic coating. I have seen it used to make changing pads but I haven't.

Thanks for your reply. I think I'll stick to flannel or something else. I have to leave the house soon so don't have time to do any research.

I've heard of it for backings on changing pads or diaper covers, but not a quilt. I think it does have a plastic coating to make it waterproof. I have never tried it though.

Is this what they make the baby diapers out of?

PUL is what baby diapers are made of, or anything that needs to be waterproof.

It is laminated on one side and polyester on the other.

Thanks gals for your replies. I didn't realize that it was laminated. Maybe I was thinking of something else? Oh well, since I can't remember, I guess it really doesn't matter............or I won't remember if it mattered! LOL

They have some at the Tuesday morning near me- entire bolts for only $19.99!
Almost bought it until I realized it was plastic coated on one side .
Would be good for crib liners and probably good for puppy crates too.
Do not think I could make that many bibs in my lifetime to use an entire bolt though!
                Happy Quilting!

Sharyn, it may have been me you were thinking of, I use cuddle dry micro fleece, which is used in baby diapers, on the backs of my quilts.

Yes, that's what it was! I'll make a note of it and I'd like to try it sometime.
