True Blue Charm Pack by Eleanor Burns

WOW! Beautiful! Just opened the charm packs and they are really pretty. There is not a one in the pack where I didnt' see one I didn't like alot. I can't wait to get started on a 10 minute block quilt with those fabrics. The pictures on the site help but in person - WOW!

I plan on making a size large enough for my bed and if I don't have enough of them, well, then - guess I'll have to order some more. Hope to start them this week so I can see if I will need more - would hate to have the shop run out of them.

    Hugs,

    I agree with you Trish.....
I have three charm packs and I've looked for a jelly roll in the same line but I can't find one.
Hope you'll show us your finished quilt.

I was thinking the same thing. Wish I could find a jelly roll in the same pattern. This line is beautiful.

Re: True Blue Charm Pack by Eleanor Burns

I just finished sewing 4 Charlevoix Charm Packs by Minick and Simpson and 1 Bella Solid in white using the 10 minute block directions. I used the 4 charms of each print for the outside and the white for the diamond. The blocks really do sew up super quick. I am currently hand stitching the bias down because I'm not a strong top stitcher. I have a plan to sew a pearl button in the center of each diamond once it quilted. I'll call the quilt Diamonds and Pearls. I just checked the True Blue line out and thought dang another thing on my things to do list. lol

Ooooh! Tillena - could you post a photo when you're done with your quilt - or even now since it sounds like the top is almost done? I showed the technique to the gals I was with in Lancaster and put a challenge out for next year for them to do something with it, even if it's just a small table runner or pot holder.

You can check with Jenny to see if she can order the fabric but I don't think MSQC has any True Blue yardage in the shop currently.

I found this site to have a pretty extensive selection of fabrics from that line at usual pricing: http://www.maricopaquiltcompany.com/...es=0&lastmenu=

This site has fewer selections but a nice sale price: http://www.dssewingcenters.com/cgi-b...es=0&lastmenu=

True Blue is beautiful fabric! I would love to see someone's 10 min block quilt when they have it finished!

OMG, I LOVE that fabric, now I have to justify why I need to buy it (meaning I have to come up with a pattern/idea) I have looked at the 10 minute block, but the blocks were larger, so am not sure how to make it smaller. pictures please,

Re: True Blue Charm Pack by Eleanor Burns

Hi! The 10 minute block turns out to whatever size square blocks you choose. Since the charm pack has 5" squares in it, the blocks are turning out to be 9 1/2" inches when sewn together. I thought that there were 40 pieces in each pack and thought that 4 packs would give me enough to make a quilt to cover my double bed. There are only 33 in each pack. So, I am only getting 6 blocks per pack with 3 left over. So I will have 24 blocks and then will get 2 extra blocks from the 3 left over from the 4 packs. If I make the quilt square, I will need a large border at the top and all around the sides, so am thinking of getting 3 more charm packs to give me 3 extra rows (it will make an additional 18 blocks.

I do think the smaller (5" blocks) are a little harder to work with to open up that middle part, but it is doable. I saw some bird fabric I liked in a layer cake that MSQC offered in a layer cake that I thought would be really pretty as a quilt, but they are out of stock on it. They were last week anyways. Need to check that again. Might get some of that later if it's offered again and maybe make a wall quilt out of them.

Might wait to see what the daily deal is tomorrow and go from there to see when I want to order some more of the True Blues. I thought that all charm packs had 40 of the squares in them, but found out this past weekend they weren't. My sister went to Lancaster with me and was comparing prices at the different stores with the charm packs and found out they all don't contain the 40 squares. Maybe its cause the better known the name that puts them out, the less you get?

Did I answer your question? I did take some photos but have to wait for DH to download them onto his computer, then over to mine, so hopefully tomorrow I can post a photo for you then. They are really turning out pretty.

                          Hugs,
