    Simple Flded Corners

I have had so much trouble snowballing corners- most are so far from perfect. I have tried marking diagonal lines, ironing diagonal lines, sewing on the line, sewing to the right of the line- nothing worked. In desperation, I bought the Simple Folded Corners by Doug Leko & it worked! I still haven't figured out why but as long as it works ,who cares. There are 2 sizes which I bought both but I think I only needed the mini. There is another product available but I bought this because I could also make the square bigger & cut it down after sewing. So if you also have problems with snowballing corners, maybe this could work for you too. [ I'm not sponsored by them].

I use the folded corner clipper tool from Creative Grids. It's probably the same idea. [I am not sponsored by them, either.]. They came out with a larger one; I have the smaller (original) one.

I got this ruler in a Fat Quarter Shop monthly box but never tried it. I'll have to dig it out and give it a go.

I have one I bought from Cozy Quilt quite a while back and just really started using it recently, it works very well.

I avoid snowballing corners because I can't get them to flip up nice and square. I'll have to look into this!

After my last exercise with the sampler quilt I have figured out a lot of things...flying geese are not as intimidating as they used to be....and I did a whole quilt of snowballs last winter that also gave me plenty of practice. I should have checked out tools. My biggest problem with getting them to line up was always, how far to put the corner in. After doing a lot of them, the 1/4 inch seam seems to be the trick

I saw a quilt picture online this morning and thought "how did they get those cute rounded corners?" they were actually cut off points, not intentionally rounded. Perfection is over rated.😁

Thank you. I've made a lot of quilts but they will never be perfect.
