tonight the dishwasher would not light up on the panel although the pump was running no switch would stop it. himself came to get me we teamed up, set to to remove panels wiggle wires following wires from door under found there was a flood in the sump clicking the switch for the pump, we dried the area before seeing if would light up and work, it did, then spent the evening on tummies watching for drips while it run its cycle, there was no drip! will check again in morning. really thought was going to be an expensive repair, am thankful it is not. I share this in case happens to you, may save you some pennies for sewing goodies instead.

Mine died a couple of years ago. Was trying to decide what to do, tried it again on Easter Sunday, Ii worked again! Resurrection on Easter Sunday! What a coincidence! But that didn’t last long! Had to be replaced several weeks later. KitchenAid products are great but their electronics have a short life span, boo!

just an update,
(our machine is out of warranty so we felt ok undoing and investigating, if in warranty ring for assistance)
a few more cycles have happen while was stripped down, still no leak, however did find gunk inside the metal of door*, at bottom near seal so cleaned, it may of been unseen gunk holding seal open, there is a little tube that drains into sump, however will wait to see of happens again before ordering parts (new branded door seal).
(*thats metal removed by undoing all facing upwards star bit screws round edge of door, a soft pillow was laid under as it departs)
it all looks like new inside and out now lol used grease lightning on metals panels.😁 be like a welding flash with morning sunshine through window.
thanks for letting me share this.
hopes sharing this, may save a huge outgoing for others.
