Jenny's pressing board in the tutorials

I searched the site to purchase a pressing board like Jenny has on her work table in the tutorials, but couldn't find one. Maybe I am misnaming it in my search. Maybe it is something she made. I want one and don't know how to get my hands on one. HELP!!

Search the store for wool pressing mat and I think you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Re: Jenny's pressing board in the tutorials

Unless you really want to make your own, an easy way is just to buy the June Tailor Quilters Cut 'n Press. While it is a cutting mat on one side and a pressing mat on the other, I do not use the cutting side. I only use the pressing side on a tray table next to my sewing table. It is the perfect size for this (and great when I don't want or need to use my large pressing table). I put down that rubbery waffle-looking material that helps keep carpets in place between the tray table (mine are wood) and the pressing mat, so it never moves. Works great!

Hello fbleven! Which tutorial are you watching? If it is one of Jenny's newer ones, then you can find the wool ironing mats here: https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/browse/12024. If it is an older tutorial, she uses a handmade ironing board. We don't have a tutorial for this exact project, but there is an older tutorial in which Jenny shows how to make your own ironing board here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uGVYK-VeNs. Additionally, Heidi shows us how to make an ironing board using plywood here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-O9mK9O8oY. We hope this information helps! Happy sewing!

MSQC has 8-1/2 inch square one for 18.95. That should be big enough to press most blocks. The larger mats are alot more expensive. Just search for felted wool ironing mat. Amazon carries them also. I got mine at Quilt in a Day when it was on sale, I think it was around $12 for an 8 by 10.
