    Pins and Paws pattern

    Hi,

I'm a brand new quilter and would like to tackle this project after having watched the tutorial. The problem is that I need a pattern to follow in addition to the tutorial. Where may I locate a copy of the "pins and paws" pattern? Thanks so much!

This is a newly released tutorial and so far I doubt that M* has it in printed form. I am sure it will come out in a future issue of BLOCK.

    I - is it INSPIRING?
    N - is it NECESSARY?
    K - is it KIND?

Here is the PDF which should help you out! https://www.missouriquiltco.com/land.../pins-paws.pdf

I recommend that you watch the tutorial a couple times and make notes. Then when you are ready to make your first block go step by step with the tutorial, stopping it as you need to. After making a couple blocks this way you will feel confident enough to make all your blocks. When you are watching the tutorial, scroll down a little and you will see a link where you can print out a diagram that also gives you fabric requirements.

There are no printed directions that I know of, but it will surely pop into one of the future issues of BLOCK.

Bubby's recommendations are super. I use the PDF that I recommended and then add notes on the diagram of the block after watching the tutorial again (and, well, maybe again)!

Same here. I am really having fun with this block- using my black, gray, and black& white scraps and fat quarters.

In addition to what Bubby recommended, I would make my first block out of scrap, for a practice block, as chances are the first block may be a bit wonkly and you don't want to waste your planned fabric. Then pin/tape that practice block to the wall next to your sewing machine as a visual aid to refer to for the rest of the blocks.

I have so many different practice blocks, that eventually some day, I may put them together into one large funky modern sampler quilt.
