    Slow Shipping

There seems to be a lot of hub bub over the slow shipping of orders. I too placed an order on March 5th and it is still in the picking stage from what I can see on my account.
I understand when yardage and precuts are involved, it may take a little longer and I have no problem with that at all. Also, I live out of country (Canada) and realize the shipping times do take longer. Not a problem either.
One of my concerns is that perhaps one of the items is not in stock and the order is being held for it's arrival. That is okay too, but if you could perhaps send out a notification of some sort to let the customer know their order is waiting to be filled, that may solve a lot of anxiety with them.
I guess the major part of a held up order is the fact that my credit card is charged the same day the order is placed. That would not be so bad if the order was shipped in a day or two, but my order is over $250. and is now over a week with no sign of even being filled yet let alone shipped.
This is just a suggestion and a way to cut down on my interest charges (LOL) but perhaps charging the credit card should be done when the order is ready to be shipped out. That would likely help us poor souls who live out of country and pay with a credit card.
    Just a thought.....

    Re: Slow Shipping

I agree about not charging until the order is filled / ready to ship.
I ordered something else (not available here) from the Fat Quarter Shop the day before yesterday, and I got my shipping info today. It should be here by Thursday. Guess I'll be working on something else after all.
Might have to call tomorrow to find out what's what.

Alana, I've pretty sure they charge you before they cut the yardage, because you cannot put it back on the bolt if you change your mind. Your order being so large may be part of the reason, they can't stick it in one of the envelope shippers they use when I order a couple charm packs. But, the priority mail only covers the package to our coast line or border, your mail system takes over and their time factors in too. I don't know of any site that waits until shipping to charge your card. I don't see why M* should. If something is out, they usually call, and ask if you still want the rest and do you want a substitute and fix the amount charged accordingly.

But, wow... that much of an order... you are going to have fun!!

Do you know of any website that does that? I don't.

Your probably right. And you make a very valid point about not being able to put it back on the bolt.

            Re: Slow Shipping

To begin with I only order 4-6 yards at a time. As for charging once the order is filled, I can understand your point, but when I can order from other fabric stores all over the US and Canada and yes, they charge my card when the order is received, but the orders are all shipped in a day or two. I ordered Almost the same size order from CT and on the same day. I received it yesterday.
So I really don't want to sit here and trade what ifs with you on filling and shipping orders, I am posting this message to find out if there is a problem with my order and to make a suggestion to the owners of MSQ…..do you fit in either of those categories Kensington? If so can you give me a straight answer or do you just assume to know one?

              Re: Slow Shipping

I know this, you can check your junk mail to see if you got a "shipped" notice that got sent to Junk folder rather than inbox. And, you can call the shop. Or send an email. 6 or 7 days to Ontario is not that much. I was just trying to perhaps give you some ideas. I certainly didn't mean to upset you'. I won't try to help you again. Sorry.

I've placed 5 orders, the first was March 4th, they are hefty orders, and are all showing in 'printed' status. The largest order is primarily yardage, but the subsequent orders are mostly precuts and patterns. My credit card is charged the day I place the order, and I, too, would love to know when they might ship, or if there is some out of stock situation because they are for birthday quilts all in the current and next month. I will have to make other accommodations pretty soon. I understand that MSQC might be overwhelmed due to the recent news reveal, so I am trying to be respectful of that. A phone call just pulls someone away from their already over booked schedule, so I'm exercising one of the fruits of the spirit...;-) patience....regards to all! Happy quilting!

Make sure that your phone number and email are current and up to date, it's been my personal experience that when something is out of stock, they called me and let me decide to ship the rest of the order and then the missing item later or cancel the missing item. I have always gotten and email confirmation when they got my order and again when they shipped. But, you can check your JUNK folder to see if it went there... it does happen.

                      Re: Slow Shipping

That is all well and good, and that is great that the ship times for those companies may be shorter. They are also much bigger businesses, with I am sure, many more employees. All of this ripping on M* over the ship times is ridiculous. Plain and simple solution, if you don't like their customer service, or their speed of shipping then don't order from them, but please stop complaining about them. SMH Call them. E-mail them if you aren't happy. I know from personal experience, and one on one time with them, their customers are their top priority. Write them a letter and see how long it takes to get there. This subject has been beaten to death the past 2 days. Give it a rest for crying out loud.

I honestly feel bad for people that visit this forum at times. This topic was put in ask the shop, not for sensitive forum members to respond or speculate or tell others your personal opinions. The question was valid and put in the right place. Email doesn't work for everyone, time differences stink for those of us not in the country. If shipping is a concern it's as important as anyone's post. Customer satisfaction is part of doing business, if the business doesn't like this category then they will delete it but it's not anyone else's right to shoo off people's concerns. I'm patient on shipping but the actual mailing part should be timely for any business and growing pains are fine. People are suggesting knowledge is all. I know I'm waiting as well, my hubby ordered me a surprise package from here so I'm excited..... First from him since he's been deployed and I told him to shop from here because of the timely shipping.

Woooow! I just posted here to get a question answered from the girls at MSQ and so far I have had nothing but a lot of rude replies from other forum members. I am not complaining about the shipping I am asking about my order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, shipping times to my location are long, but that wasn't the question. And so far all I have are some suggestions from well meaning people and some very rude comments from others.
Don't you worry Auntiemern.....after that comment I won't be posting to the forum again!!!!!! With people like you making harsh and uncalled for comments, this forum won't be popular for long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was a perfectly civil suggestion. Heck some people (mostly ebay) think that Hawaii is a different country. I'm serious. lol

I actually think this section should be replaced with a different category. Only forum members come in here to answer questions anyway.
