Batting question regarding tablerunners and wall hangings

I have asked this question before and get such a wide variety of answers, I thought I would ask the experts!!

I make a lot of table runners and small to medium size wall hangings. I would like to know what is the best batting to use for these projects. I want my wallhangings to have enough 'substance' to hang nicely on a wall. I am discovering that table runners don't need alot of batting but seem to look better with a lightweight....

Maybe Jenny could do a video tutorial on different types of batting and their uses in different quilting projects.

    Thank you for any information.

Sheriann, I think there are a lot of us "Confused" Quilters.
Maybe we should start our own support group????
There are so many choices and uses and weights etc. it sometimes hurts the head.

Something I read about batting for wall hangings,,, it should be polyester or have a scrim in it. That way it will have more body to hold its shape on the wall. Cotton batting without the scrim is softer & has a tendency to sag over time.
      Just a suggestion...

I personally use 80/20 for almost everything. I think 100% cotton would be my choice over poly batting. Poly is lighter than cotton, so not sure it would have the weight you would want. Something else to keep in mind, is that the denser your project is quilted, the firmer and stiffer it will be.
