    Pressing seams

I've noticed in your tutorials that when you're pressing your seams you always press them closed first to 'set the seam'. When I started doing this my mother thought I was bonkers. Why do you set the seam before you press it? I just copied without knowing why but I trust you girls that it's for a good reason.

it helps to flatten any puckers or pulls from sewing the seam and allows you to press the seam to one side easily and withing creating any bulk.....HTH!!!
