Daily Deals.....Decision ?

How are the daily deals decided ? Does it have to do with an over stocking problems or perhaps deals from the companies you purchase items from ?

I believe Al buys them specifically for DD. Or at least some of them.

I am curious why yardage is so rarely the daily deal. I think I have only seen it once this past year. Of course I could have easily missed more of them
