    Beginning Tutorials-Jenny

I am VERY new to quilting and I am basically learning as I go along, as well as getting tips from your tutorials, so please keep that in mind as I ask my question.
My question is: When I have watched to tutorials Jenny, I don't see you anchoring your stitch when you are putting the blocks together. Is that not necessary?? The woman who taught me to sew (my mother-in-law) is a talented, but she does not quilt. I didn't know if there was a difference. If and when do you need to anchor you stitch when quilting?? Also, that chain piecing trick was very cool and will definitely same me some time and thread. Thanks.

I'm not Jenny....but I'm gonna throw my 2 pennies in...

For quilting it's not necessary to anchor your stitches since you will have intersecting stitch lines when you start to piece your quilt together.

I have never anchored my stitches when quilting EXCEPT for when I machine sew my binding.
