    tumbler template

I ordered the tumbler template on the Daily Deal and it arrived today. Fast service!!! Does that template have a paper backing on one side that makes it slip proof? Mine has a paper backing on it that won't come off. The problem is that the backing was put on the front of the template and it covers all the printing on the front...like "made by Natalie Dawn for the Missouri Star Quilt Co". Maybe this was why it was a daily deal? Of course it will still work as the cutting ruler but I'd love to see all the printing. Should I try scraping that paper off or just leave it alone?

If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

I peeled mine off, too. You're right though, it does look like it should stay!

Thanks for the encouragement to remove the paper film. I used the edge of a razor blade to lift a corner and it peeled right off. Now it looks right. I'm ready to cut tumblers!

I hadn't even unpacked my tumbler template yet. But, I did and removed the paper, just picked at the corner and it peeled right off. DD was standing here and thought the template and color is sooo cool. Then I showed her the hooty hoot charm packs that are planned for it and she loved the fabric too!
          Thanks so much MSQC!!

I have to admit, I got my tumbler template also very quickly, pealed off the paper and even though I already have four projects in the works, I just had to try a couple rows of tumbler blocks. I still had trouble matching seams . . . . .even when I pinned. I guess I just have to be more careful. I'll get the hang of it yet.

                    Re: tumbler template

The paper is on there to protect the acrylic. It keeps the big sheets from sticking together and scratching each other. It isn't so important when laser cutting the material, but when my husband uses the scroll saw to cut the acrylic it keeps the edges form chipping. You can also use the paper to draw the shapes before you cut them out, kind of like the paper backing for the wonder under.
The paper is just left on to protect them during shipping is my guess. Have fun with your new templates!
