    Binding calculations

My girlies and I are just starting to learn to quilt. We chose some simple blocks and are making hot pads out of them. We plan on moving onto table runners, and so forth. My question is... how do we figure how much fabric to use for the binding?

    Thank you!

    Re: Binding calculations

There are binding tables in quilt books and on the internet that give you yardage needed based upon the width of your binding and length needed. Also, if you give your local quilt shop those two numbers they can figure out how much fabric you need. Have fun creating with your girls.

    Happy Sewing,
    Rae

Oh dear, I was working on making one of these. I suppose I'll just have to make mine better!

I had been to this site before but had totally forgotten about it, thankyou for reminding me about it, I have also now bookmarked it. My math is usually pretty good since I need to do it all the time but this is much easier...providing I am at my computer.
