Tonight's guild program was: "The 21st Century Quilting Bee" by Reeza Hanson - of http://blog.morningglorydesigns.net/

She's a "HOOT" and does a wonderful program about how on-line sources have become the modern-day quilting bees. She showed some fantastic quilts she's put together following some swaps and BOB (Bags of Blocks) swaps.

During the presentation she said that usually if she gets blocks she doesn't like or ones that don't quite fit that she sticks them in a bag and when the next BOB comes up she'll swap them. Or, she'll go ahead and finish them and then when she realizes it is truly ugly and she'll never use it she usually will give it away to the first person who exclaims how wonderful it is. I tried it on one she said she hated . . . but I didn't get to bring it home.

She did delve into the social aspect of forums, on-line groups, etc., as a way to make new friends and share the love of quilting. Brought home some great thoughts and ideas . . .

Very interesting, Sandy! Nice website, too. Our forum is like an old fashioned but 'virtual' quilting bee!!! Thank you for sharing.
