Visitors to the Caribbean island of Montserrat receive a shamrock-shaped passport stamp, a nod to the island's long, if not always happy, connection to the Irish settlers who arrived there in 1632.

Other legacies from Montserrat's Irish sugar plantation owners include places called Kinsale, Cork Hill and St. Patricks and a coat of arms that depicts Eriu the green-clad goddess who symbolizes Ireland holding an Irish harp.
