Backstory is....DH and I are getting away from this rather crappy weather, the cold/snow/ice/rain, heading south for a few days. My brothers have challenged me to NOT bring along a bit of sewing or quilting. They say if Dan can not play his video games I can not sew. Our journey starts tomorrow and we return on Wed. One brother said if I can do this he will send me a pack of rotary cutter blades, I wonder if it is worth it. :icon_beuj:

Sounds like a good time to take up Origami.

That is pretty harsh for a single pack of rotary cutter blades; you need to up the bargaining chip. Doesn't mean you can't shop for fabric, surf for patterns, etc. Being fully immersed in your travel experience might give you some fresh perspective when you resume your usual quilting routine. While posting this I'm chuckling, knowing my suggestions are just a bunch horse hockey!:D Safe travels and enjoy a reprieve from the snow. Lisa

I know it will be difficult, but as the zen people would say 'Be in the moment". Enjoy your time away. I'm certain that a change will be as good as a rest.

Safe travel Beth.

I always consider a road trip to be the perfect time to find a new quilt shop or antique store.

It is not. Remind him you quilt so you don't kill people.

To right, I am unlivable if I can't get in some quilt time every day.

he only said "take" any sewing/quilting with you. He didn't say you couldn't buy while you where there. Drag him to every LQS you can find.

I agree with LauraP, drag him, kicking & screaming, if necessary to every quilt/antique shop you can find.

Interesting challenge! You have to let us know how it turns out. Do they sell rotary blades in packs of 20?
