View Full Version : Tuesday hellos!!

March 12th, 2019, 07:48 AM
Good morning friends. It was another quiet day yesterday. We didn't do much. Elaina came over after school. These two always have a great time together. She stayed for dinner again last night, told her I was going to start charging her rent, LOL!

Today we are headed out. I have a couple of stops I need to make, drugstore, return at Walmart and then off to the quilt store. Maybe lunch with my brother if he is home. We shall see what the day brings.

Have a great day friends.

Mornin y’all!

Sounds like Maizyn is keeping you busy. So happy you’re able to have this time with her.....they grow up soooo fast!

Sunshine galore yesterday and suppose to show itself again today! Love it. And.....there’s rumors that we’ll bet to 60’s Thursday, with rain. Gonna have to wait to find out if they know what they’re talking about.

Sewed a bunch yesterday, still not sure of the direction it’s taking.......gonna have to nail it down, sooner or later. But it’s fun just sewing. I’m ready for some spring!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Love and hugs!

Good morning everyone. Ditto what Anita said Monique - enjoy Maizyn (and her little friend too) they grow up soooo fast. My first ggirl is now 22 years old and living in Baton Rouge LA....I simply cannot figure out where the time went. When is your tea party? Can't wait to hear about that - don't forget to take pictures.

Busy day today. Have a pre-op appointment for Restorative Therapy - whatever that is. Going to teach me how to exercise my arm after surgery to get back my range of motion. I'm only having a lumpectomy - not sure how that affects my arm, but I guess I'm gonna find out.

Then the afternoon turns into fun - 2 of my sisters are going to the appointment with me and afterwards we are meeting our baby sister at a local restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner and gab fest. Being with my sisters is all the medicine I ever need.....there used to be 5 of us girls (I'm the middle child - or odd one as they say - LOL) but our eldest sweet sister, Nan, is now an angel. We are extremely close and totally enjoy just being with one another. We usually spend the time yakking, reminiscing , solving our family problems but we mostly spend the time being silly and laughing our heads off....best medicine in the world.

Have a FUNtastic day everyone.

Good morning All.
I had a productive day in the sewing room yesterday, got the rest of my block exchange blocks done and 2 sets of the patriotic blocks done. Today I’m going to see if they have the sunbonnet sue die I ordered in. I’m also planning a trip to my “localish” quilt store to use up my $30 punch card and get some fabrics to do patriotic sues. If all goes well, I could be making my third set of blocks by this evening.
Just a few more days until we get our secret Santa names, yay! Once I finish the patriotic blocks, I’m going to pick up on my 30’s project and the diamond star quilt.

Have a happy day everyone.

Good Morning ~ Today will be another "warm before the storm", with temps. at 60 deg. Rain tonight, turning to a mix tomorrow a.m. & all snow Wed. p.m. into Thurs. Possibility of 4-8". We are under a winter storm watch. There are blizzard warnings out for the N.E. Plains. It's calving season for the ranchers, so they'll have to watch their herds. I'll wait & see what the weather is doing this eve. DH is urging me to stay home from guild mtg.

No sewing yest. In the a.m. I mixed up my batch of turkey patties. After lunch, I made a run over to 2 stores. Needed bulk nuts at Sprouts, then salmon from the main store where I regularly shop. I bought 3 large filets, which I cut up into 58 pieces for the freezer. DH eats this every day for lunch.

Today I plan to change the bed so I can air the pillows outside on the line. I also need to finish up my Bible study lesson for tomorrow.

Have a great day.

Hi Everyone...Jeff took yesterday off and we were out and about all day.

Saturday we went to the apartments and it ended up being a rather messed up day. Jeff was able to remove an old dryer and install a new one with the help of our tenant. We came home early without getting much else done. The Girls were having a rough day and Sugar got car sick. I showed our vacant apartment to a nice family and they really like it. If they qualify I think we will rent to them. I felt bad that we smelled like Sugar's vomit. Wipes just don't do it sometimes. Jeff wanted to turn on the water so we could clean up some but the door to the water meters was frozen tightly to the ground. On the way home we almost had two wrecks on the Interstate. The second one was such a close call we had to jump onto the narrow shoulder pulling our 12-ft trailer with a load on it and run into a pasture. It just wasn't our day to be out and about.

I went to see my specialist again Friday. It looks like I will have to be on preventative antibiotics for the rest of my life. This is disheartening to some extent. I will do what I have to do,as it's really my only option.

I'm doing a little work on a hexie project, using hexies I made while recovering from shoulder surgery the winter of 2010-2011. I wish they were scrappy and different prints but they may make a cute little quilt . It remains to be seen. I think there may be enough hexies left after making the quilt for a runner or baby quilt.

We are expecting rain/storms for the next two days. I hear thunder in the distance now. I think I'll unplug for now.

Hugs and best wishes Friends.

Good morning all,

The weatherman (person?) is saying 30 degrees today???? We haven't seen that since last November. But....we have a storm watch for Wed. and Thurs.......possibly 3-9 inches of snow and blizzard winds. 3-9 is quite a spread! But even an inch of snow here combined with the 35-40 mph winds causes a big travel problem. Joy, is this your storm you're sending our way?

I have to work at Joanns today, so I'm glad the weather will hold off until tomorrow. They're having 50% off the premium quilting fabrics yet, so it will be a struggle to leave all that pretty fabric in the store! I know there were new fabrics coming in last week, it might be a violent struggle.

Yesterday I worked on a SS gift. I was very proud of myself because I found everything necessary in my stash. That always feels great.

Well, I better get my lunch packed; I have to be on the road in about a half hour, Praying you all have a blessed day.

Good Morning All,

I'm dog sitting today. Jim's family is going to Lego Land today and Pepper is staying here.

Yesterday I finished the last blocks for the garden star. I took them to Jim's and laid out 6x6 on his bed, so the 7th row will make enough to tuck under the pillows. I worked on the top sashing pieces. The first and second rows are ready to be sewn together, maybe later tonight.

lol, after today, I may not want a dog... especially a fox hound that likes to bay at everything. I think the squirrel might have had a heart attack, out went Pepper, zooming to the end of her lead, and the baying started. I thought I'd never get her back in the house! She's worn out now, sleeping on the sofa. I'm ready to be sleeping on the sofa, too!

Good morning ladies,

Sunny here and milder, but we are expecting that next storm on Thurs-Fri, coming from Colorado and getting everyone on the way up to us. I want spring so badly.

It was a rough night for both of us. I tossed and turned until about 3, considered getting up, but that's when DH thought he might come to bed. He gets up. I toss & turn. We got about 5hrs sleep, when PJ sat on his night table, singing the song of his people. Little bugger. Their bowls still had food in them. I think they are trying to get us on DST.

It was slow moving yesterday, and DH had appt for cataract surgery. He was extremely disappointed, as there is a 6 month wait list at the hospital. He will have another appt before the confirmed date to receive pre-op info & meds. Then one eye, then another month for second one. This could be problematic as he will need to pass the eye test for his glider pilot's license. Now he is wondering if he will be able to fly much this summer. I think this was going through my mind, as we have been thinking road trips in his new SUV. Looks like I will need to get trained on this one. It has 4 manuals, lots of bells and whistles. Mine is so simple, basic.

We had lunch and then I went to get my nails done. I picked up some groceries as this was the first time out in a week. When I got home, DH was laying on the bed. He said he layed down when we came home, so he slept a good 5hrs.

Carol- I'm happy that you have sisters to share good times. I'm certain they will be a good support and help if you need it. One item I have made for many people who have surgery is a tiny pillow, like a baby pillow. If you cough, sneeze or just to hold against you. I've also made for friends who have had heart surgery.

Barb - that kind of driving is scary. I'm glad that you are ok.

Enjoy your day. It's guild meeting tonight. I will pick up my gloves and Dorothy's ruler that was left behind at the retreat.
