Today is a hard day. A difficult day. we had to put out little girl dog, Snickers, a King Charles Cavalier, down. She is our little rescue dog, and in many ways, she rescued us. She was estimated to be 5 years old when we found her
5 1/2 years ago. 2 1/2 years ago she was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma and had her spleen removed. 4 days ago we found that it had metastasized to her liver. This is difficult., Snickers is in Heaven. We have had 2 1/2 years more to love her and to be loved by her. I am heartbroken. Tonight will be so hard. I wonder, does God have cheesits for her? Snickers really loved them. Forgive me, but I am a little raw tonight.

I am so very sorry Snickers went to the Rainbow Bridge. She was a special little lady & I know she had a happy home with you. We are facing an upcoming loss of our little Maggie & I've already cried buckets. We've lost several furbabies & no one but furbaby parents know what that's like. My advice is to cry as long as you feel the need. It will lessen in time & that will be your decision. One day, you'll smile, watery maybe, but a smile as you remember your little baby.

My heart is breaking for you as I know how you're feeling but I'll try to put one of those watery smiles on your face...

YES, GOD DOES HAVE CHEESITS. HOW COULD HE NOT? HE KNOWS EVERYTHING & KNOWS SNICKERS LOVES THEM. HE WELCOMED HER HOME TO WAIT FOR YOU.

PM me if you want to chat sometime.

So sorry for your loss. We lost a little puppy this last year and that was hard enough. You’re in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear, devoted, sweet dog. It is incredibly hard to lose our pets, especially dogs. There's a bonding that is tough to understand—unless you're a dog lover. My heart goes out to you. It takes time to deal with the loss, and please know that the forum is always here with a shoulder for you to cry on.

Sorry for your loss. We had to make that difficult decision for one of our little ones recently. (My avatar) I still miss her but have many fond memories. I hope your memories will help you through this sad time.

Oh my goodness, loosing a beloved friend is so difficult. At least you were there for her and she for you when you both needed a friend. Embrace the goodness , share the love with a new friend. Not right now, but soon.

I've rescued almost all of my pets for the last 50 years and for the last maybe 15 years I have adopted the older ones. I take joy in the fact that I was able to give those kids some wonderful last years. It doesn't make it hurt any less but I feel that is something good I can do for the ones that need it most. When one leaves I wait a few months and go find another that needs help. But this last little girl is going to be soooo hard to lose. My husband is in very poor health and she gives him so much love that I pray he goes before she does because his heart will break without her.

So very sorry for your loss. These fur-babies touch our lives/hearts so deeply, I often wonder if they realize our love for them runs so deep.

I am so sorry too. It's hard to lose a beloved pet, your little best friend, your shadow, who is always there with you good times and bad. Take comfort that she had a good life with you. I am sure she's munching on cheesits right now.

So sorry for the loss of your beloved dog. Dogs are so special to us with their unconditional love. It is a very sad thing indeed to let them go. We lost our beloved dog just a year ago and still miss her sweet face. Prayers of comfort for you.

I am so very sad for you all. They come into our hearts and leave footprints there forever. She was one lucky rescue pup. Humans who loved her, cared for her well, and made the most difficult decision to give her peace from her disease.

Sending heartfelt condolences to you for the loss of your faithful friend. It takes time, but if and when you're ready, there will be another fur baby in need of rescue. Even though another pup will never replace Snickers, there are so many that need someone to love.

I am so sorry to hear about your Snickers. ((((((((Hugs))))))) to you and your family. We are not that far past where you are in your grief. We lost our Booda at the end of January. He too was a rescue. It hurts so bad and I know there really are no words that make it better. So I will pray for you as you go through this very rough time.

Thanks to all of you. Yes, we are sad and lost. I know, we will eventually get over the grief, but NEVER stop missing our little girl. She jumped into our truck the day we rescued her, walked into our home and made it her own. (she immediately got into the crate as I put it together on the living room floor, then went into the doorway of our bedroom and piddled. How could we get mad at her?) She taught us how to behave and be the kind of parents she wanted/needed. She was my constant companion in my sewing and Fred's constant companion as he sat in his recliner. I worked out there today....missed her immensely. It's not the same. Probably will never be the same. Fred made a sweet, rustic cross today to put on her spot outside. I grieve for us, and for all of you who have lost a beloved fur baby.

I'm just now seeing this but want you to know how sorry I am for your loss. I understand about the Cheesits. Each time we have lost one of our pets, I have prayed and told God all about them, how they liked to be petted or what they liked to play with. Seems silly, I know, but they are so much a part of our lives that we can't stop caring because they're no longer with us. Sending you a hug and prayers for comfort.

So so sorry to hear about Snickers. Our pittie, Chaka, died of the same thing in December only seven weeks after diagnosisi and emergency surgery to remove her spleen. An awful disease. You were Blessed to have her as long as you did. We felt Blessed that even though we didn't have her long after diagnosis she acted very normal until the day before.

Donna, we were told to not expect it to be very long, weeks at the most. We truly were blessed to have Snickers as long as we did. She acted fairly normal in the morning, and late morning, absolutely took a nose dive! Just basically collapsed. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Chaka. It hurts so bad.

I lost my Honey three years ago. I'm still shedding tears over her. Grieve as long as you need to. Maybe one day your heart can welcome another rescue to bring you joy.
