Good morning friends. Well we are over the hump and closer to the weekend. BUT it still mighty cold here. Spring can't come soon enough. Although I think we will still have snow in June. I have asked a young man to come shovel the snow off the back roof. He is to come today. It is March break so a good time for him to come. Les wants him to shovel a path to the back shed too to get the middle seat out for the van. We never did put it back in from last fall and now Maizyn is coming and we need the third seat. Hubby should have listened to me back then. Oh well.

I spoke with Maizyn and she is pretty excited to be coming for the week. I am hoping that we are able to hold a tea party like we did last year. Lots of ideas in my head about what to do for the week. No she is not into sewing YET!!

Work is going ok, making headway on the butterfly quilt. The replacement mail carrier today sells Tupperware so I am taking in a couple of containers that I am having a problem with. I will also be taking in my vacuum and get some cleaning done too. There is a little hand held sweeper but it doesn't do a big job.

And so that is what my day is starting to look like.

Have yourselves a grand day, my friends.

Morning y’all!

Yeah Monique ......if only our DH’s listen.......sigh......happy you’re getting someone to help you get rid of some of that snow.....it can be sooooo heavy! Excited for you and your visit with Maizyn!

More snow last night.....guess it’s a regular cycle now. But woke to 16’, not single didit. Getting into the 20’s, not teens.....an improvement. I’m just hoping for some sun!

Started in one direction, made a 90 degree turn, and now I’m headed in another direction on the donation quilts. DH saw my progress and said, “you’re gonna give it away?” Ah, yup! He’s gotta stay out of the sewing room.....he doesn’t want to ever get rid of a quit,.....kinda of a sweet thing but, I can’t and won’t keep them all!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Love, hugs, prayers for many.

Good morning. Yesterday was a really busy day . I met a friend for breakfast and had 2 appts. I went to the dry eye specialist. My dry eye is not getting better but my I need a weaker eye glass prescription now. I was quite surprised at this. Today I do not have much planned. I may cut some more pieces for my new quilt.
We are heading back to South Dak to visit my MIL. I need to get things ready around here - buy more dog food, get prescriptions, etc. I hope the weathers warms up in that part of the country!

Have a good day.

Good morning everyone,
Sunny but cold again. I have a bit more energy this morning and think this bug is going away. I committed to make some oatmeal cookies and meatloaf cheese muffins for my daughter, so I will tackle this today and tomorrow.

Then I will head to the sewing room to re-acquaint myself with ongoing projects. DH made the label for GS quilt, so I will handsew it on. I also got a M* package yesterday. This one took 19 days, much longer than the previous one, 7 days. Oh well, it had the Paw Patrol fabric so I could make pillowcases for Cedric's 2nd birthday next week. I had also ordered the DD bracelet and another. I like them. I will wear them at quilting events and shows.

Enjoy your day. Stay dry. Stay warm. Be safe.

Good Morning all. Dental cleaning this morning for me and afternoon appt for father at the surgeons, hopefully this will be his release appt. Still have couple more specialist in the loop for release and blessing of the request to have the prosthesis made. Rain is predicted again for today, hoping it turns out to be showers here and there and not when I am wrestling with him and his wheel chair in/out of my little car.

Good Morning Everyone,

Jeff is attending a full-day retirement seminar today. I really wanted to attend but Miss Dottie isn't doing well and neither of us were comfortable leaving her alone that long even with a sitter.

It's still quite cold. We turn our clocks forward this weekend. This messes us all up. When we had Olive she refused to cooperate with time changes, preferring to listen to her internal clock...we still miss her so much.

Jeff will bring KFC home today so I won't have to cook. I will make slaw and we will be all set.

Not sure about my agenda today. I have to see the doctor tomorrow and get more tests done.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day...stay warm and safe.

Good Morning from PA where it is cold and sunny. Today should be the last of the really cold days...hope so because I'm so over cold & snow & ice & scraping off my car.
Today is my day to cook, so it'll be busy, but we'll have plenty for days. I'm waiting for fabric to arrive (will take over a week to arrive :( ) so in the meantime I may hook up the embroidery machine and try some ideas. This afternoon, if it's still sunny, I'll curl up on the bed in a sunbeam with a good book and however many cats that find me.
Hope you all have a happy day!

Good Morning All,

I kind of like Jim's spring break. I didn't have to wake early yesterday or today for home school. I've already cut a zillion little blue squares for the half square triangles on the sashing for the garden star. Next is figuring out how many strips to cut for the sashing. I guess I should get the squares out to see how big they are so I can get started on that. I really love that the layer cake and background were both daily deals. The solid contrast, I got on sale. The only thing I've really splurged on is the border fabric.

Melinda got the fabric I sent her. Funny thing is, I got it from Quilted Twins, turns out it came from Melinda's home town! I gave her the address and she knows exactly where it is! She loves it and we had a nice long visit on the phone, so that made me happy.

I won a prize from Darvanalee Designs a couple of weeks ago. Mike came in with the mail yesterday with the, "Who do YOU know in Australia?" lol, Third degree much? I told him it was my prize. Two pretty fat quarters and a macrame kit that she's going to do a tutorial on in a couple of weeks. I think the fat quarters are darling and I can't wait to use them. If you're in the Secret Santa, you make want to check her out, she's got lots of little tutorials that would make nice SS gifts.

Time to get back to work. If nothing else, I'd like to get the cutting done today!

Prayers for those in need for healing, comfort, strength, wisdom, and hope. Prayers of thanksgiving for all of our many blessings.

Good Morning ~ We have fog, cloudy, & 30 deg. It looks like there might have been some freezing drizzle in the night. I see ice on the patio. It's supposed to get up to 48 deg. later on.

I have stuff moved out of the way in prep. for the electrician to come today (between 9-11) to fix our ceiling light in the fam. rm. I hope it will be an easy fix. DH already is stressed out about it. This morning was his every-other-morning medical procedure, so he's not feeling that great. We had a similar problem last year with another light; it just needed a new ballast & was fixed in no time. In previous years, this would have been an easy fix for DH, but he just can't do these household chores anymore.

I never made it to the sewing room yest. Maybe today. I have so many projects in various stages. So many finished quilt tops that need sandwiched & quilted. One of these days...

Anita ~ I've been enjoying all your recent animal pic postings. That cat reminds me of a long haired tiger cat I had when I was in junior high school. He was very patient with me. One time I dressed him up in my doll clothes & took his pic. He wasn't a happy camper with that nonsense.

Well, I need to get my breakfast before the electrician comes, so this is all for now.

Good morning all,
I woke up to -13 degrees this morning....that's enough to make you want to stay in bed. We're supposed to warm up a little the next couple of days, but then more snow for the weekend along with 25mph+ winds. I often wonder why we live on this wide open prairie.

I've been working to finish the Jan. theme for the SS group. It involved learning a new tool and a new technique, so I was really happy with how it turned out.

One of you gals posted the video link to the quilter who makes the scrappy quilts from 2 inch squares. For a while now, I've been cutting my scraps using the mini tumbler ruler from MSQ, and after watching that video, I decided to use them as my leaders and enders. Hopefully someday I'll end up with a scrappy tumbler quilt for my bed. The tumbler fits a 2 1/2 inch strip perfectly, so my left over jelly roll strips will be put to good use.

Time to head up to the sewing room and see if I can get into any trouble! Wishing everyone a blessed day. Jeanne

Good morning All.

The birds are chirping like crazy outside my window. We have several nesting boxes and they flit about deciding who is going to nest where. i love listening to them.

I’ve been doing block exchange blocks and still have 7 more to do before I’m finished with this one and already I’m coincidering joining another one, for patriotic blocks this time. This next one I would need to make sets of blocks for it instead of just individual blocks. They only do it once a year so it’s now or next year. I’m on the fence.
