Good morning friends. We had a little more snow to add to the mountain here. I had to head to town for a few supplies and some more Afterbite. I am going through that stuff like crazy. Still barking like a seal too. The van is going in the garage this morning for an oil change and some minor repairs. Wiper blade is broken and the little 'thingy' (technical term) that the spray comes out of for the windshield washer is missing on the driver's side. So that will get repaired before we leave. Yes we are leaving again, not going too far. Tomorrow is my son's 32nd birthday and it is his weekend to have Maizyn too. She is really excited that we are coming. We both have to work on Monday so it will be a quick trip.

Les picked up my parcel on Wednesday that has been waiting for me. I ordered some batting and some layer cakes from Connecting Threads before I left. When I get back I need to straighten up the sewing room again.

Mountain of laundry is now a hill, getting through it slowly.

Well that's it for me. Have a wonderful day friends.

Good Morning Monique,

Have a great weekend with your family.

I started on the Garden Stars yesterday. I chain stitched the half square triangles. I had my stacks of the print and my big stack of white squares. I pulled 2 from each color stack so all 4 of the 1/2 sq triangles will be together when I press and cut them apart. I'll clip them together so they don't get lost. I didn't want to square them up last night. I'm waiting on the sun to make it's appearance around the corner of the house so the lighting will be better.

I worked on hexies a little, 15 flowers left in the box to stitch up and then it will be add them on row by row. lol, I wish we had a little colder weather for that process! It was in the 80s here yesterday.

Our neighbors are getting a new roof put on today. That means there are a lot of cars and trucks here. It will make it a chore to get out, I'm glad we finished up our running around yesterday.

Prayers for those in need for healing, comfort, strength, wisdom and hope. Prayers of thanksgiving for all of our many blessings.

Sounds like you're busy, busy, busy Monique. I'm glad you had a lovely time on your vacation.

I'm going to go out for lunch today with a friend which I'm looking forward to. The poor girl came down with the flu earlier this month so we didn't get our normal outing.

I noticed the crocus are just starting to come out of the ground....along with the darn boxelder bugs. It was rather warm and sunny yesterday so they livened up and were sunning of the warmer siding of the house. I was out with bug spray because some of them annoyingly make their way I guess through the cracks in the wood around the windows in the downstairs bedroom. It reminds me of when the stinkbugs do their little swarm. Yuck. I know....I should be saying Yeahhhh, Spring is on the way! I'm thinking that this year I'll plant less vegetables but adding a hydrangea bush (white), a honeysuckle vine (just love the scent) and maybe try some white gladiolus. I'm also planning on replanting the echinaecea that didn't come up again last year :-) I really miss them and they had come up so well over the last few years, I don't know what happened to change that.

Now that the heat appears to be ok, my oven decided to stop working. The landlords wife called yesterday so I let her know. I think they're really starting to hate to hear my voice. I keep telling myself, look, you've lived here 6 years and never had to pester them about replacing something (unlike some of the other tenants they have) but still I feel tremendously guilty. I don't know why that is but I hate feeling like that.

Good Morning, Everyone ~ Well, my niece called last eve. from TN. Her mom (81), for whom she's caregiver, fell last eve. & fractured her pelvis. They had eaten out at a restaurant & were returning to the car. Barb fell as she was getting into the car. Because it was raining, & she didn't want her mom to lay in the rain, she picked her up prior to the paramedics getting there. She has a couple hairline fractures. When my niece called, they still were in the ER waiting for a bed. They planned to keep her overnight. Because she'll already under hospice care, it's doubtful they will order any rehab. & she'll probably return home today via ambulance transport. They do not have 24 hr. coverage for her caregiving, so my niece will miss some work. Please pray for Barb to have adequate pain relief & healing. She has so many other medical problems. They surely didn't need this. My niece is so stressed out from dealing with various agencies, paper work, etc.

Today is our monthly Lady Bugs lunch at a local Italian restaurant. I probably won't go since it's snowing this a.m. & I didn't see much on the menu I was interested in. Too much pasta, etc. Not good for my diabetes. DH doesn't want me to go because of the weather.

I almost finished the taxes yest. I just need to total up the mileage to medical appts.

Have a great week end.

Good morning All!

Things are quiet here, it’s 5 am and the house is still asleep. Weather has been sunny but cold, our daffodils are starting to poke up through the ground. I have some paper whites that I transplanted from a small planter a few years ago, looks like they are going to bloom this year. I love them!

Finally heard back from my doc, the pain in my side is my liver. Now to meet with her to get more details and talk about options.
Hope everyone has a fun weekend!

Good Morning Everyone...As soon as we feed the Girls we will head to Rolla for my doctor appointment with the specialist again. I have improved in some regards but the side effects from the meds almost make it not worth it. Jeff is taking me because our weather is risky right now and he doesn't want me driving my little car. I'm glad about this.

Pam, knowing what's wrong is half the battle. I will be praying for you.

I have to make dog food...will check in later. Hugs...

Good Morning, maybe that should be Good Moaning as I'm all aches and pains this morning. Need another big mug of coffee ASAP and 2 Advil might help also. Don't want to change our plans to run around doing errands and food shopping while the weather is nice, 50 degrees and sunshine expected.

Monique, Good to see you back, sounds like you had a wonderful time.

No big plans for the weekend which is good as DH & I need to get a bunch of chores done. One is to begin working on our taxes, maybe that's why I feel so bad.

As I posted late yesterday telling you about Cohen's (my neighbors GC who has Ewing Sarconoma) I know you all may have missed it. He has had several rounds of Chemo and at age six now weighs 30 lbs. He has two more treatments. They say the tumors have shrunk to nearly nothing and if he can survive the treatments he will start to improve. He cannot walk any longer and mostly can only play video games (pokemon and lego). He has been on my mind non stop for two days. If anyone has suggestions on something I could make him to give him joy, I'm all ears.
I'm still working on the "show" quilt copy of oldmanquilt. I put it on the design wall yesterday and spent three hours and still don't know if I should try to make a pattern from it or just sew it randomly...
Stacking wood today with the warm springlike weather before it rains again. Tulips, and daffodils are sprouting . Spring is in the air.

I love that. It's Good Moaning back at you. Having my second cup of coffee and popped 500mg of Naproxen. I probably should have taken it at 2:30 am when I woke up in pain, but forgot when I fed the cats, since one was annoying me.

Good moaning ladies,
It's sunny, cold and still winter here. It's been great quilting time. I have been neglecting other chores and quite focussed on wuilting. Today, it's laundry, groceries and me u planning for Saturday night's wine, cheese and meal with friends. Also need to pick up items to make the assigned meal at next week's retreat.

Monique - have fun this weekend. Don't worry about laundry, unless you are leaving on another escape. We won't be wearing summer clothes for awhile yet. Take care of that bark.
Joy- I'm so sorry to hear about your niece and her mom's fall. Hopefully they can do what she needs to heal, whether it's surgery or pain meds. Having just gone through this with my mom was not easy, but at least she was in long-term care, and they did have her in convalescence for 3-4 weeks before she went back to an adapted room. She is still not mobile on her own, but more related to her bad knees. I hope your niece is able to get the help and assistance that she needs.
Terry- what about a padded tote for his game toy and books and pencils to draw. I can't find a picture right now.

Gotta get going, Meds have kicked in. There's. I stopping me now.

Sending positive vibes and get well wishes to all who are suffering. Be safe. Stay warm stay dry.

Good morning. I did not get a chance to welcome Monique home yesterday. I worked out and did some errands. Now I am waiting for the groomer to arrive to do haircuts and baths. I did finish my Braid quilt. I ordered some wide backing fabric for it. Hopefully I can give it to my cousin when I see her in May.

Have a good rest of the day.

Terry, how about an I Spy quilt??? Something with lots of color and pictures, and also something to cuddle with. Maybe put minky on the back.

I do think this would be a fabulous item to make.

Good afternoon. It was a crazy morning out and about. The weather forecasters have given a wide range of possible options for this weekend. So many people were out getting groceries and supplies. The most likely weather will start with rain then possibly change to snow as the temperature drops. Personally, I would prefer lots of snow over any ice. We are already dealing with some ice as the temperatures go up during the day then drop at night.

Yesterday I started working on a tote bag. I would like to get back to it this evening if things work out.

Have a great weekend everyone :)
