Monday night mom's phone rang and she knocked it to the floor. She reached over to pick it up and fell out of bed, breaking her right hip. So I got a call and met the ambulance at her residence.

They took her to my prefered hospital, better care and more specialists. We got there at 11 pm, so it was an all nighter to get X-rays and see doctor. Mom just wouldn't shut up. She talks a lot when she is nervous, so they kept giving her meds and finaly I told her the baby was sleeping and she should do the same. I read a quilt mystery novel and almost done. Then to wait for orthopaedic surgeon after 7am. He confirmed she needs hip surgery, and explained procedure. So it was filling in paperwork for surgery and to admit her. By noon I had been up over 30 hours and headed to her place to pick up some toileteries and items for safe keeping. I got home and dropped off to sleep from 1-5. Had a brief dinner and headed back. She still did not have surgery, as they are prioritized. They can call them down to OR until 9pm, and that time passed, so mom got to eat and will sleep. I am going home, and wil come back tomorrow.

The surgeon dropped by and apologized that she didn't get done. She is the second on list for hip tomorrow, of no other priorities, not fracture related, come up.

Please keep her in her prayers for a successful procedure and outcome. She's also praying to her favorites and my aunt who was a nun for 75 years.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and well wishes.

Mom is in surgery as I type. I will go this afternoon after she is back in her room. I will bring her cheese curds. Her Favorite food. I am hoping for the best, but quite aware of the risks for a 95 year old.

I hope all goes well and she heals quickly. my sister broke her hip and her husband had her put in rehabilitation place for months. i don't know what kind of insurance they had but she finally got home. (he would never care for her himself). Hugs (())

Continuing to lift prayers for you and yours. I hope the surgery went well and your mom is cognizant enough to ask for medication as she needs (our problem with mom, she'd never ask).

Please take time to take care of yourself.
