Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers!! Surgery was a success....... I now have new plastic in my artificial knee and they also had to "patch" 2 holes in my tibia. Was able to come home yesterday.

Glad to hear it went well, Lisa. So how long do you think recovery will take? Any physical therapy prescribed? Excuse the questions but I'm not familiar with this procedure.

Had plastic replaced in '01 and was back to work full time at exactly 6 weeks. Since I was 17 years younger then I am not expecting to heal quite that fast this time. I will officially start Physical Therapy on Monday but have been exercising since a few hours after surgery. I was up and walking the same day.

Sounds like you have things well in hand. Good luck on your first steps (pun intended) toward a quick recovery!

My 63 year old gf had knee replacement surgery on Oct. 15th. The first 2 weeks were kind of rough but she says the pain is now gone and she is even driving. In the last ten days went to a rock concert and NBA basketball game which required walking up stairs. So there is a rainbow coming for you! She said that when she was eventually allowed to take a hot bubble bath it was heaven.
