Did I say normal? I must've meant YOU. Nothing is ever normal around here - by most folks standard, anyway. The snow that came in a furious flurry of activity left with hardly a hello. I am glad I took a few pics early because as S. Chesterfield Trish will tell you, it warmed up and frosty the snowman will have to return again another day. Sandy, I never got my snowman finished. Sigh.
Here are my memories of yesterday morning:

Okay, now I am really ready for spring. I am itching to get my fingers deep within the heavy red clay i] and call me nuts . . . pull some weeds. Please notice I said [i]some weeds. [/] This is the time where I complain about having my children grown up so they are not around to work to death. I think I shall blog about this sometime in the future.

Deb, in Iceland - thank YOU for your lovely and generous gesture of sharing your snow with us. And BTW, loved your photos as well.
It is still dark thirty; off to drool over at pinterest. Here's a cup for you ~ join me?

Hey Blondie, you're stirring early this morning. Your snow pics are lovely, but I prefer the pictures to the real thing. The wind has been howling here since about 3 a.m. and rain is supposed to be on the way. The poor spring flowers are having a tough time with this changing weather...and so are my allergies! I just popped an Aleve-D for the headache and stuffiness. If you have allergies and haven't tried Aleve-D, I recommend it. It's a bit pricey and, here in Ky, you have to sign for it promising not to use it to make meth or something, but it's worth it.

February is moving along nicely. If the weather stays like it has been, I may have to cut grass before long. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Blondie, your photos are lovely.

After work yesterday, I had to have a nap and slept 2 hours. I don't know why I was so sleepy. I guess from the busy weekend.

I watched again the two quilting courses that Jenny did on craftsy to get some motivation and idea on my next quilt. I still have not decided what to do next.

One good thing, hubby got called to work today FINALLY!!

Not much else to report here at the moment.

To everyone, have a very quilty day.

Morning girls! Blondie I would have no problems with you keeping all the snow your way, lol! Looks to cold for this chic, brrrr!

Went to an auction here awhile back and I hit the mother load on buttons!!! Got them for a good deal to. I was $2 away from stopping my bid if the dude didnt stop, but he did finally, score for me! Finally got them sorted and there are some pretty cool ones in there.
Well all have a great day!! I have to go to work now, ugh! I'd rather be sewing! Loving my new machine and want to just sit and sew, but I guess I got work to pay for it, lol!
Love and Hugs to you all!

Good Morning Everyone,

We were supposed to get a bad thunderstorm last night but it missed us completely. However, they had an earthquake in southeast Missouri last night along the New Madrid fault. Not many know that the worst earthquake in the history of the US was in southeast Missouri. There weren't many casualties because the area is sparsely populated.

I have an appointment at 9 this morning, so I have no dilly-dally time today. DH went to work this morning in spite of being sick as the proverbial dog. He was called to work twice this weekend while he was trying to rest and get over this cruddy bug he caught. I'm really grateful he has a steady job but he never has any time off that's untouchable by the State. Monique, I know you would probably want to shake sone sense into my head...lol! I'm glad your DH got called back to work. Is this a permanent call-back?

I just need to make four more blocks for the Halloween quilt and I can zip some borders on it and run it to the quilter....yay! I'm a bit weary of making spiderwebs and look forward to a change. I have tons of UFO's to work on. I've been really good lately about not buying any new fabric. I do have a rotating cutting mat on the way from JoAnn....it was only $16 last week!!

I wish you all a good Tuesday with fair weather and lots of love.....Hugs All Around, Barb

Iowa is pretty calm today, no snow, no earthquakes (Wow Barb!), just some much needed rain. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things, and am sort of there. I've got some qulting that is calling to me, and now that the company has all headed home, my sewing room is open again.
I'm with you ladies, I'm ready for spring! Hubs and I took a 'flower walk' Sunday, to see which what was happening in the yard. Fortunately most of the girls are still dormant.

Beautiful pictures of your snow covered trees, Blondie. By the way, I follow you on Pinterest. I'm Joan Kalimuthu, and we seem to like many of the same quilting pins. Like my daughter, I love Pinterest but it keeps me up way too late...it's kind of addicting! So many interesting things to look at. We got some snow last night, but Chicago has no complaints about the weather this winter as its been so mild and pleasant. Today I will be picking up my new BabyLock Symphony, and I anticipate locking myself in my sewing room and having a quilty orgy. After my mediocre Singer, this is going to be a real pleasure to sew on.
Hope all of you have a safe and happy day. Joan

Good morning everyone! Blondie, I love the pictures, especially the second one with the blue sky peeking behind the snow covered branches! Beautiful! That one is worth framing!
I'm off to my daughter's house today. Her little Abbey has her first doctor's appointment this morning; also, my daughter wants to stop by the hospital to see the lactation specialist for some updated guidance and advise. I'll be playing / watching her 2 year old! I had so much fun with her yesterday!
Gotta run now! Have a fantastic day everyone! Prayers for all who need them!

Good Morning all. So our 'Boot Heel' was shaking a bit last night, that actually happens quite often, but normally the quakes are so low on the scale no one feels them. I am glad I live on the opposite side of the state though.

We got a bit of rain last night but no bad thunderstorms which was a good thing. Suppose to be nice and warm today. So I hope to get some laundry washed and on the clothesline as soon as the sun starts to shine. If it does that is. If not I will do my laundry tomorrow. Probably going to go cut wood today anyway and I really don't want to do laundry and cut wood all in one day, my hips won't take it. DH keeps telling me I stink because I smell like Ben Gay muscle rub. LOL

I did the top to a jelly roll baby quilt over the weekend. I will have to take a pic and get it posted. I was also playing around and made a bookmark and started some mug rugs.

Have a great day.... prayers and hugs all around.

Hi ladies,happy Tuesday!

Blondie, loved your snow pictures. It looks so beautiful and pristine. However, with that said I don't want any :) Our winter has been so mild this year and I'm really enjoying it. My husband went and bought a bigger snow blower last year, so I knew that would guarantee no snow this year! Weather man says it's supposed to almost reach 60 degrees by Friday. The heather in my front garden has been blooming since Christmas and looks so pretty. It usually starts blooming in March.

Chores this morning and food shopping but then get to play in my sewing room today later today. I have a quilting friend coming over this afternoon and looking forward to that. Bought some more fabric yesterday for my tumbler quilt now have to get busy cutting them.

Off to get a cup of coffee and start my day-

Finally got my BOM quilt off to the long arm quilter! yeah that dear man said when do ya need it. I just told him when you can get to it don't put yourself out and he said if it is for HVQ I will have it done when you say you need it!!! That is so sweet so he will have it done before next guild meeting.
Hope you all have a great day and everyone who is sick is well very soon. ((Hugs))

Happy Tuesday all you fine quilters!! Love the picture, Blondie. Here in New England Mother Nature has been good to us this winter. I'm not complaining we haven't had much snow!

Still working on some donation quilts. The gals will be over again this week to tie them. Sitting around the table, just like an old-fashioned quilting bee!

Have a great week to you all.

Blondie, the picture of the gate should be blown up and framed, it's lovely!

Blondie, your snow was prettier than my snow! (or at least, yours stayed on the branches throughout the night. I could hear chunks of icy snow hitting the roof the whole of Sunday night!)

It's sunny and cold her, but the majority of the snow will run off, it's going to be 73 by Thursday!

Off today, but so is the DH, I have no idea what 'our' plans are for the day, I hope to get some quilting in.

DD just texted me that the job interview she went on went well, keep your fingers crossed for her, she needs a full time job!

I am getting close to getting up the nerve to get a haircut...I am a big wimp about change, and if it's not right and what do I want and and and...but I am getting closer to taking the closest pair of scissors and hacking, so I know it's time!

VA Trish (don't tell Blondie, but I did that just last week. My DD was a licensed cosmo but has let it expire with all the kids to take care of - and she won't do my hair . . . she said I looked like I had put a bowl over my head).

Okay ladies - here it is and I just checked the clock and see I've already wasted (??) three hours this morning and have accomplished nothing except letting off a bit of steam and being silly. Have the grand kids coming for Nana's Cooking School this afternoon so I will get no sewing done. Hope everyone is well and happy.

Anxious to hear how Emily & Heaven are doing. Sending hugs for Alison and Stewart (wishing I was close enough to help out).

You all stay nice and cozy, warm and happy, and keep stitching, okay?

Oh, and Babs, get up and do some stitching, too!!!

Hi everyone,

I am back from a week in Florida and I can hardly type my hands are so cold! And it's a mild NH winter! Back to long johns for me until spring. I loved seeing my sister Nancy and some of the quilts I've made for her. We had a wonderful time.

Jonas and I had a day planned to visit quilt shops in the area and it was almost a bust! One closed, one by appointment only, three relocated with no forwarding address and finally two open! One was large with lots of fabric and quilts displayed, but my favorite was the little one with fabrics all crammed into the tiny room, lots of very unique displays and the nicest quilty owner! I stuck to my budget and only bought a few yards but had a fabulous time there. She asked me what kind of thread I used and when I said Aurifil she almost hugged me! It's her #1 choice for thread and she had lots to choose from.

Blondie, I love the picture of the snowy wheelbarrow the best. Mine is revving her engine in the basement as I type, as anxious as I am to get out there and garden! Hopefully she will be full of mulch before too long. Maybe a mild winter means an early spring?

Mr Daisy at chemo again today, he will be there every day this week. Waiting to go and pick him up. Did some housework, went to the shop, not much more. Went into sewing room and mostly stared lol. My mind refused to focus on it today. Had a friend come round to see me, she knew nothing of whats going on and she was soooooooo cross we hadnt been round to tell her! She said she would do this this and this but..........lol this lady has a heart of gold and is big on promises and short on action. We will see if we see her again, maybe if we do I will say......yeah ok, knock yourself out and do this this and this :)

Ok.... snow, storms, rain & Earthquakes OH MY! I think I am moving lol

I am running behind checking in today got busy at work this morning. Don't have time for my usual personals either I hate when I feel like I am behind all day. Barb I know about the big earthquake living close to land between the lakes. I hope that that the next big one waits until I am gone! We actually practice our earthquake drills every now and then but you know what if we had an earthquake we would be like what in the heck and it would be over!

I hope everyone has a good day! By the way I didn't get anything accomplished yesterday I had planned! So much for a nice day off right!

The snowy photos are all so pretty - I can't pick a favorite!!
We'll be hitting the 50's here tomorrow and the next few days. I'll take it. Wish it was like that all year round.

Found out that DS #1 finally got a full time job!! Well, it's part time - 4 days a week, but he will get benefits and is able to have off every other Thursday so he can still do his massaging job. March will be the first month in a year and a half that I won't have to help him pay his car insurance, car payments, or gas. Of course that money will probably go into gas for the other vehicles seeing as how they are saying how much it will go up in price which I think is just riducleous and think they are ripping off the customer. Thank goodness I don't even leave town during the week for my job, well, I guess every little bit will help - maybe I will fix up my bike and start riding my bike to school which is only about 10 minutes away. It's easy to get lazy when you have the chance and I know I am not alone in that respect.

Need to do some work on my blog - maybe tonight. Also need to work on my applique - maybe tonight. Also still working on my photos. Can't figure out how to get them to transfer from Flickr to here. I saw where I could transfer a photo to a Facebook or Twitter but not to a website like this so I put in a question to the Flickr people about it and waiting for an answer.

Well - guess I better get moving here - thinking about Sandy and her cooking classes today - think I'll probably just throw some chicken in tonight. Easy, peasy. The less time I spend in the kitchen makes me a happier person!

Hope you all have a great evening,
hugs,
