View Full Version : Good morning Saturday!

Good morning everyone. I'm not usually here this early, as I am normally out with the group for our Saturday morning training. Not happening today. I've been under the weather and have not done much besides sleep the last 2 days. Finally looked in a mirror last night, and oh my what a sight. It was enough to convince me to go to the doc this morning, so I will try to be there when they open. My left eye is almost closed shut. Once that is taken care of, I hope to add additional backing to the t shirt quilt and prayers for those in neec.

Good morning Ken and all who follow,

It's sunny and temperatures are ramping up again. High heat and humidity. Oh yeah! Hate the humidity and now I know why. My joints have been aching and I have less energy. I will try and get things done this morning and retreat indoors this aft.

There are a lot of fairs and events going on around the capital. It would be fun to go to a few. I will check the listings and decide. We went to LQS yesterday. They are having semi-annual sale. Beautiful fabrics but just could not bring myself to buying any. I did buy a pillows panel (55% off) to make toss pillows. I did sign up for a class in December. DH got a few FQ, but he wants to go today to get a kit he saw to make a quilt for his grandson. It has elephantt appliqués. I will check as I think I have the pattern.

I have been watching the damage done by Florence. Although it doesn't look as bad as predicted, it is still hanging around and can do damage. Sad to hear there have been some fatalities.

I made an appointment for our cat P for MondayJ. He has been throwing up his food and water once or twice a day for about a week. Since he is our fly catcher, I am thinking he has gone overboard and had some bad flies.

Have a good day. Stay dry. Stay cool and stay safe.

Good morning Karen. Sorry you are feeling so bad. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

We are headed out to Henry's tball game shortly and then we will head over to where they are having an e-cycle and STOP drop off today. We have an old printer and a bunch of old paint that needs to be gotten rid of. After that, I am not sure what the day will hold.

Saying prayers for those being battered by Florence.

Good Morning All,

It was busy but quiet here yesterday. I took all the Christmas stuff that I have left to go through out to the garage. Last night I ordered 3 more ornament containers from Amazon. That should take care of everything (I hope) and I don't have to go shopping in the heat.

I have the rows together for the 9 patch madness. Today's plan is to sew the rows together and decided if I want the inner border or not. The border print is about 8'' wide, so I'll look at it today once all of the rows are together. I've got to find backing fabric for it today and then next week hopefully get it to Cinnamons to quilt.

Next Thursday- Saturday is the Quiltfest here in Jacksonville. I hope I'll be able to go. It was so inspiring last year. We'll see what happens. Friday is my eye dr. appt. Jim wants to see if I qualify for a seeing eye dog. We'll see what happens with that, my field of vision would have to be 20% or less. I'm pretty sure Mike thinks it is, since I run into everything at stores.

I guess home school will be back in full swing next week. J did field trips, reading and math while he was gone. Not sure what days Morgan will be working, so I'm not sure what days we'll have the younger kids. I'm glad we got as much done as we have.

Prayers for those in nature's path. It sounds like the storms in the Atlantic and Pacific are creative havoc for the coasts. Prayers for those in need. Prayers of thanksgiving for all of our many blessings.

Morning all,

Looks like the sun will be shining today. We have a birthday party to attend this afternoon which will be outdoors so I hope the weather cooperates. It is a casino birthday party with gaming tables and such it should be interesting.

I have gotten back in the sewing room and finished two more items for our craft fair. I still need to get a move on and make more items. Tuesday I'm taking a class at my local quilt shop so tomorrow I will have to get busy doing my prep work. I've already made the item we are doing in the class but if I take the class I know I will come home with finished product which is what I need, and it's always fun to sew with others.

Wishing everyone a good weekend, must get a move on and get a few chores done.

Prayers indeed. Still calm here this morning and as we are in the direct "projected " path I am hoping it really peters out. All these big trees could be devastating, but God will know best I guess. I just wish the media would stick to reporting and try to get some of the excitement out of the event. I just worry that people are going to become so apathetic that they ignore the important stuff.
Finished up two more quilts yesterday on the repaired machine. It is just joyful to sew on that machine and such a shame that I am afraid it will break. I guess I know that if it breaks without being under warranty, I'll never get another one.
We closed down the pool yesterday in anticipation of winds. Eventhough its wonderful weather for swimming, the leaves will come tumbling down if the winds are high and that would really be difficult to clean if we hadn't covered it.
DH got a deer with his bow Friday . He has it cut into hunks and in an ice chest so I think perhaps we may finish cutting it and freezing it today although, he's thinking of hunting this afternoon before the rains come

Morning Everyone...I just waved goodbye to Jeff and Alex as they left to work on the landscaping at the apartments. I want to have a quiet day. I already had to bathe Sugar and Mags, as they jumped right into a mud hole first things this morning...not a good look for white dogs. The Girls need some new balls, so a trip to Houston is in order. They need Kong tennis balls, as they break everything else.

I will check in a little later...have a good day friends. Terry, my prayers for safety if the storm heads your way.

Good morning, The sun has finally made an appearance. I may spend the entire afternoon outside. This morning I am heading up to a sewing store that has 30% off fabric today . There is a quilt show near by and I have gone to it in the past. They seem to have the same vendors and it gets smaller and smaller. I hope to continue to cut and sew sashing to my quilt. I did pick up my son’s
Penn State quilt from my longarmer. Now I need to bind it.

Have a nice day and those in the Carolinas stay safe.

Good Morning, Everyone ~ I just finished a late breakfast & the dishes. I'm waiting for my food to settle (reflux) before I start house cleaning & doing the bed linens. The pillows already are out on the line in the sunshine. I have a load of laundry in the dryer.

We're still having hot temps. Yest. it was 97. We don't expect to see 80's till Tues. or later. Mornings are chilly. Yest. was our coolest yet; it was 52. Today it was 54.

Today I'll sprinkle some moth crystals out there by the hole under the shed to see if that discouraged the raccoons.

I haven't done any sewing for a couple days. Maybe this afternoon.

My DIL arrived home from Holland ok yest. afternoon with no hiccups or delays. She always brings back food goodies -- cheese, of course! -- usually spices, some candies. Whenever they travel over there, they always take an extra (empty) suitcase for goodies. This time she brought stuff in her carry-on so she wouldn't have to pay for an extra checked bag. Glad she's home safely.

I hope everyone has a good week end. It looks like Florence still is dumping big time rain amounts & the flooding continues. I hope Judy is doing ok w/o power, etc. I saw where there was street flooding in her town.
