View Full Version : Daughter is hurt. Hubby is sick. Lists are identified

I had a text from my daughter. She slipped off a step last night. She can't sit or walks with pain. Her hubby is bringing her to doctor. Oh no, who will keep the baby, and 4 year old this week til he goes to school next week. She also has 2 year old that goes to daycare. She is obviously going to call for help next week.
Looks like the 3 grandparents will be called to duty.

Michael was going to go to work today (he has flex hours - work 10hrs/wk). I was looking forward to quiet in house, now it looks like I may be surrounded.

My mom's residence (260 patients) is still completely quarantined. She was a bit sick, now better, but difficult for 94 year old when surrounded by sickness. Their activities and daily mass are cancelled. She can't even go down to hairdresser. They are restricted to their floor, limiting visitors. The flu has been quite active in our city, more cases being actually reported n

I just never know what the new year will bring. My energy is up, not sure why, but probably because I have played in my happy place everyday since xmas. I have to stay positive.

On a positive note, I have made lists of quilt projects to quilt, to finish UFOs and a healthy wish list. I have been making progress on reducing items on lists.

Oh my, just when you thought you'd get a rest after the holiday hassles. I truly think that so many people come down with every virus/cold available right after the holidays because they are so tired and their immune systems are lowered. Think about it..we're generally rived up from Thanksgiving through the Christmas holidays, go, go, go and then collapse!

Oh no! Well your daughter is very lucky that you live close enough to jump in and take over. I think you better hide that to do list for awhile. Your house will be chaos in the meantime! Hope the recovery is a short one.

Oh no, I hope they both recover quickly.

That's a lot to handle at one time ... worry about mom, daughter and grandkids. Glad you have the energy to deal with it all. And the lists will be so helpful when you get some Me time. Guess the saying "Stay Calm and Carry On" applies. Hope your daughter heals quickly and mom stays well!

Wow - those lists are wonderful! You are inspiring me to get organized and get to work. Hope your DD is on the mend, your mom can move about more, and that you enjoy every minute with the little ones.
