A guy crashed his gyrocopter (not DH thankfully!). He walked away with a compound fractured arm but his copter is toast. I'm not sure there is a piece on it that is still straight plus he took a lot of paint off one side. For everyone who prays for generic goodness it really helped him today.

Is that the same as an ultralight? We used to get one or two crashes of those a year. One of the deputies had one and it crashed. Seems he broke some vertebra, but recovered....he was lucky!

There's NO way I'd be on one of them....sorry to say, I have a fear of flying....anything!
So thankful y'all are fine and that the other guy will be OK.
Whew, scary.....

Wow! How cool. I'd admire from the ground I don't do heights very well.

Wow - not much protection in a crash. Glad the guy will be OK. How high do they fly? I don't think I've ever seen one.

FAA limits us to 10,000 ft. We usually fly 1,000 ft or less. Top speed is 120 mph. If we want to go slower for looking at deer or whatever we take the powered parachute. Top speed is 30 mph. 145635 145636

I thought you were talking about a remotely controlled toy, which this is clearly not. Nobody would manage to get me in one of these! I'm glad the guy only broke his arm.

The deacon at our church died in an accident in one of those gyrocopters 2 years ago.
