Where did the weekend go? Yesterday my plans for just chilling didn't exactly happen but it was a great day anyway. I did get to see Heaven and her family. Today is a crucial day - they are going back to Carillion Children's Hospital to see the status of the leukemia.

I have a list of projects to get started today, and I am chomping at the bit. I need to clean a wee bit more up in my sewing area - at least enough to play around - hehehe, and then get started. Hate to start this year feeling behind!

Cathy, glad to see you back and it sounds as if your girl's weekend was a success.

Whats up for everyone else today?

Taking car to the garage. I still have my run-around phew! so on the way back we might just happen upon the fabric shop(I need more fabric, like my hubby needs a new guitar, like, not a lot :D) and might stop for a cuppa somewhere, I love going out with my hubs!

Gorgeous day here today, and kind of warm(ish) too!

Have a great day everyone.

I love the picture Blondie! It's back to work today for me with meetings and a potluck lunch. Going shopping this afternoon to see if I can find fabric to make blocks for Heaven and Emily. My stash is still small enough to fit in a basket so it's a'shopping I must go to look for the desired colors.

Good Morning...

Waking up slowly today...DH is almost out the foor and Molly is begging for cookies. Last week was a good one for her and we're hoping this will continue.

I got my sewing room closet cleaned out yesterday and came to the conclusion there is very little I can do with the limited space I have for sewing. I told DH at least I can try to memorize what's in the closet so I don't have to tear the whole room apart looking for something..LOL!

Wishing you all a good Monday....I'll check back in with you later...the laundry is calling my name....Arghhh!

Hugs, Barb

The weekend is over. The Tie a knot for a cure bridal event that my DIL organized was a huge success. $1600 raised for Breast Cancer Action Kingston, which is an organization providing support among other things. I am so proud of Jodi. The baby quilt I made did not fetch as much as I would have liked ($50), but the quilt did turn out beautifully. I will get pictures posted soon.

On the way home yesterday, I had a lovely lunch and visit with a friend I made in the spring, on a quilt trip to the States. We were roomies. We are both going to attend the next one in September of this year.

Today will be a clean-up day as I have not been here to do it. Laundry is the #1 thing on the list.

I have to share this with you. First of all I live beside a hotel. Actually it is more of a restaurant with a bar. In any case, last night there was a car parked just outside our living room window. This is like 30 feet from the house. Well let me tell you it was a porn movie in the making. REALLY!!! Can't find a more secluded place? I wanted to get the big bright flashlight and shine it on them. LOL!!

Have a wonderful day everyone. Glad to be back.

Good Morning All,

Back to work Monday for me. Same ole, same ole.

I had a massage scheduled for after work but had to cancel. Instead DH and I are going to a wake about 1 hour away. Our niece's FIL finally lost his battle with lung cancer. He came with them to stay at our camp a couple times - a fun and entertaining guy. His stories of the old days were great. He must have been quilt the wild one back then.

Prayers that Heaven's results are okay and for Emily and Mr. D. too.

Have a great day,

Well, I'm up. What more can I say. I wanted to get up earlier but the bed wouldn't let me.

Finishing up some plans for the Nana Cooking School (making chef's hats for the 3 girls - pictures to follow hopefully). Then I'm pulling out stash and firming up blocks for our little girls and great-big, handsome man!!

And, I truly guess that's all the babble that is going to fall out the ends of my fingers today. My brain is empty.

Off to the races! Have a wonderful day, everyone. Prayers and warm wishes abound!

Morning all! Blondie, I've got a list as long as my arm of things to be done today but instead I'm working on my daughter's b/d quilt, that's top priority. It's great weather too to spend the day quilting! We are having a whale of a storm for 2 1/2 hours this morning! Thunder and lightening like I've not seen in years, gutters overflowing and raining in sheets! One of our poor boxers, Cooper, is scared stiff of it all. He's been laying next to me, as close as physically possible, and shaking like a leaf. He hasn't even eaten his breakfast and that says a lot. Anyway, it's mostly over and now everything will get really green, greener than it already is and it's January for gosh sakes!!! I'm not of fan of the weather I live in here in south Texas, I like four distinct seasons but I'll live wherever my hubs lives.

Everyone, have a great day!!!

Happy Monday. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day here in the Ozarks. Had a very short shower last night (weatherman said NO rain until Tuesday.) DH had just gotten home from his gun show in Mountain Home, Arkansas and was exhausted, so I through on a rain coat and did a little fast action emptying of the back of the truck. He is still in bed and I can hear him snoring away. Which he rarely does so I know he was exhausted. He had a great show though.

I spent my weekend catching up on my mountain of ironing. Yep... I still iron. But then, I have to hang everything on the clothesline so it pretty much is unwearable until it is ironed. The only sewing I did was mending.:( my least favorite thing to do. )

Looking forward to going shopping with DH sometime this week. Mondays are always his ... do nothing..recuperate day after a show.

Prayers for Heaven, please keep us up to date.

Good morning everyone! I'm doing the laundry today and working on closing my DH's books for the year. Then I will be searching for colors for the blocks for the girls and Mr Daisy. The weather has been so warm and nice here. It says in the Bible that seasons will change and I'm believing it. It's January and we have had temps in the 50's! It's a littler colder today though.
Well, I guess I'll be getting on with it, the washer just stopped and it's time to change loads. I'm tired just thinking about all I have to do.
Emily has had 11 blood transfusions, so far since the last part of December. Most of them emergency style. I'll be putting an update about her soon. She sees a surgeon today about getting a double mediport put in. Thank you again for all of your prayers for her. She is going to need them. A lot more before this is over. As soon as we know everything I will update.
Prayers for Heaven, Daisy and Mr. Daisy, and for Ruby's headaches are being said. Love you all so much! Hugs, Jan L.

@ Monique
did they at least pay you some money for making that movie in front of your house? Now people watching that movie might recognize your house and take it for something else. Better watch out.

Today i have been sewing like a fiend on the owl quilt and......OMG i am one 4 inch square short!! No more fabric............eeeeeeeeeek. that sounds like Beatrice Potter's The Taylor of Glouster lol. 'No more Twill'. Anyway, naturally had to stop sewing although the swearing still hasnt stopped lol. Ordered another long quarter, i did ask if she could send me a 4 inch square but strangely she made this odd strangled noise down the phone. Think she was having a bad day?

Off to the Post Office now before it closes to send SIL's Tablerunner, and my Mad Mother's cheque..........ahhhhhhh these relatives eh? Tomorrow is not a day to look forward to so am just keeping busy and not thinking about it.....no I'm not!............... No really i am not thinking about it. At all..............

Well, it's 6:30 and it's still dark here on the rock!

You guys are all busy in your day. Been up since 5, still with one part of a headache cluster. Think I'll be crosseyed for the rest of the week!

Monique, some interesting folks in your neck of the woods! Hey, I grew up in downtown Amsterdam, folks had a cafe, need I say more. LOL Red light district, Mary Jane legal, Hippy Days, Oh My.

My excitement will be having my DH color my rooooooottttttssss! They are landing strips. After that must take a trip again to FabricMart in Honolulu and stop in Waikiki, they announced on the news this morning that they are pumping sand from the sea onto the beach as it has become too narrow. Want to see if they splat any tourists. Just kidding.

Jan, thanks for the prayers at 3 am your time, crazy girl. They sure got rid of 2 out of 3. Great job between you and God. :)

Love all and enjoy the day, Ruby

Good Morning All. My day of cutting and sewing did not go well yesterday. Did put some patterns I printed out on Line in notebooks and tried to organize my sewing area some. The key word there is TRIED. Did not work.

Barb - in trying to memorize what is the closet make a list and tape it to the outside of the door. That way all you have to do is look at that first. Good Luck.

Nancy - Sorry to hear about your niece's loss.

Still lifting up Heaven and Emily in my prayers and any one else who is ill or not even ill.

Oh well like Blondie said "It is Monday" I guess I need to get off this Computer and get work.

Oh did I mention that my favorite quilt shop in my area is list as one of the "Top 10" quilt shops in the May issue of Quilt Sampler. Well if I didn't I just did. This is 50 miles from house but if I need any thing this where I go. If you get a chance check out there blog "A Thread of Red" and the website is "www.ascaletthread.com." You can also see some pictures posted of Strip Club as well.

Oh Well Happy Monday.

Well it is truly Monday, I overslept and got to work 4 minutes late. Not a big deal, but I NEVER sleep past 6:00 AM! I'm home for my lunch hour to say 'Good Morning' just a wee bit late.

After reading about everyone's day, I am almost tired reading about how busy we quilters are!

I'll be looking through my stash tonight for fabrics to use in Heaven and Emily's quilt blocks. Sewing and praying for the girls is my plan tonight.

Blessings to all,

Lin

Monday work-day.

We had a rough weekend, a good and dear friend of ours got killed saterdayevening in a car accident.......in Hiram, Georgia.
Since the USA is at least 6 to 8 hours behind us, we found out yesterday.
Feels so far away but we feel the pain and the loss, I wish I could go over the ocean and be there for his wife, he is in our thoughts and prayers.
On our trips to the USA we spend so much time with them, they came to the Netherlands and loved it, we had always a good time........he made Mickey Mouse pancakes for the kids, now all grownup they still talk about that... We'll miss him!

So I did not sleep at all last night, had a very busy day at work, went shopping for fabric for the girls and Mr. D and now I reading all the news on here and try to relax a bit.

For the next couple of days I will focus on the blocks for the quilts, put a lot of love and prayers in them while making!!

What a weekend...what a week. I have been mia for a bit. SO much going on. My youngest daughter split with her lazy ass boyfriend...YEAH. She has moved back home and yesterday we found he a sweet little apt in the city next over. It an hour drive from here and as she is working there already this is a good move for her. Start fresh. Start new. She has a pleaser personalilty and he sure took advantage of that. Next my DH's job may be coming to an end at the end of this month. His job was mechanized and he will likely be leaving the company taking a severance but still it is all very scary. I have been out of town for work and will be going agin tomorrw for a few days. ALL IN ALL VERY EXHAUSTING! Okay enough about me...I hope everyone is doing well and my prayers are there for those who need them!

Hi Ladies
Normally I enjoy my Monday's but today was not my favorite day of the week because I kept getting tugged and pulled in different directions. I wanted to plant my hiney down like a stubborn mule and bray at the telephone. Just a bunch of annoying things that had to be dealt with - blah!
I have fresh homemade potato soup on the stove, yeast rolls in the oven (thank goodness I remembered they were in the freezer), the woodstove putting some heat and just waiting on my man to come on home. I am ready for a snuggle. Today has been so cold and rainy - not the pouring rain as our Terri in Texas has had but enough to chill me to the bone.

Now Monique ! I agree with our Michele, you should be paid royalties! I would've called the law.

Klasien ~ so sad to read of the tragic loss of a dear and special friend. I will say an extra prayer for all concerned this evening.
Shauna, got to read that the dead beat is out. Hope your sweet and pleasing child has learned a valuable lesson,.

Was just reading on Angela's blog about our Heaven. She got great reports this morning and was scheduled to start chemo this afternoon. Her blog address is: http://thecoblerscorner.blogspot.com/
if you want to read the update.

Off to stir the soup. Blessings to each and everyone.

Good Afternoon all my quilty friends. I have been doing a little of this and a little of that. Checking my stash, then re-checking it looking to see if have all the stuff for the special angels, and guy quilt blocks. Good to go on Mr. & Mrs. D's. But not at all sure I can make the blocks for the angels! :( I have never never done any blocks like that!!! And I don't have enough of the wanted fabric to make toooo many mistakes! :( I am a big chicken when it comes to trying this type of cutting and if it was just me playing around with trial and error it would be fine. But I will try to do one to see if it worthy of the cause. If not maybe I could embroider a panel for the back that has a Biblical Verse on it?? Look in my album where I made the table runner for my Mom & Dad's 60Th wedding anniversary, it is the one with the purple, pink, and lilac's etc. I could do something like that in no time and I have more verses than those. Let me know if that would be acceptable. I really would like to help out. Thank you.

Blondie that is good news for Heaven and her family. But tough times ahead with the chemo. God Bless her.

Jan L I am sending loving and healing prayers for your Em and all of you. Love you dear friend.

Mr. and Mrs. D, I am sending the same to the both of you. Sholem

I did make an Elk Shepherds Pie, so as far as that part of the day goes, it was good!!!

So to everyone I send my love and prayers and hugs to all of you. You all are a great bunch of gals and guys.
Love Jan G

Well, here we are at the end of Monday. Made it through the day pretty well -- did a very little bit of sewing on a flannel baby blanket when I got home --- and I do mean a very little bit of sewing before the phone rang, the doorbell rang and then dh came home so it was time to sit down to dinner. Now I'm too tired to actually do any sewing on my machine so I'll just read about it here and look at the gallery. I'll watch one of my favorite shows at 10:00 (Castle) and maybe do a little hand quilting on a UFO I'm working on finishing. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Monday.
