Good Morning....Jeff and I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017.

I promised Jeff homemade biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast and he's not letting me forget. The Girls are napping now but they will gladly share a biscuit later.

Make the last day of 2016 wonderful.

Happy New Year everyone. Going to see Star Wars this afternoon and then out to dinner with friends. There is a storm warning for later today so I am a little concerned about being out on the roads tonight but unless it is terrible, DH wants to go.
Hope everyone has a safe and great celebration today and I wish blessings for each of my very special Forum friends for 2017!

Wishing everyone a wonderful 2017.

This is a day that I never have liked very much. While I like the idea of hope for new things in the new year, I just despise how this day is turned into party central (I'm not much of a social person).

At any rate, although I have been unemployed this year, it has not been for naught. I completed 6 quilts, quilted 2 of those quilts on a long arm machine, purchased my monstrous Babylock serger and made plans to purchase a Bernina sewing machine in the hopefully not too distant future. I got myself out of most of my debt - the mortgage and refuse to get myself back into debt even for the Bernina.

So, I guess I have learned something this year and provided quilts to those in need (Fort McMurray fire).

Today I will start cutting the one block wonder quilt for my M-I-L who is sick with cancer again.

Have a safe day peeps and see you tomorrow.

Morning all. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. 2016 was not so great , here's hoping 2017 will be better.
Nothing planned for us as we are not into social gatherings and rarely if ever drink. I will be sewing a few items today. Got hubby to help me rearrange the drawer tower the printer sits on top of for better use.

Barb, is it too late to stop by for biscuits and sausage gravy? That sounds yummy!

We've had a fun weekend having our Christmas get together with my family. If we do anything tonight it will probably be supper and games with family at my parents house and then home before midnight.

My niece loved her quilt so I was very happy. I'll post a few pictures after I get them off of the cameras.

Hope everyone has a safe, happy and healthy new year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something....Whatever it is you're scared of doing, do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever." - Neil Gaiman, Author

Not much planned for today. Might start taking our Christmas tree down or else put that off till tomorrow. But it needs to go soon, the needles are getting all over the place! Today DH and I are starting home and later will start making some seafood gumbo which we will have for dinner, out is an annual tradition for us. I think there is football on today--I hate fb so for me that is the green light that I can sneak off into my sewing room for awhile when the games are on. Tidying up in there is way overdue. I used that room for wrapping gifts so I have random small bits of paper, ribbon, etc to pick up. I think my Christmas cards and address book are in there someplace too!

2016 was a very bad year for me so I say goodbye and good riddance and I hope 2017 will be a lot better. Safe driving everyone hitting the roads tonight. If you live in the northeast, stay home if you can! I see you got about 12" of snow yesterday. Take it slow and easy shoveling! Happy New Year everyone.

Happy New Years all! Today will be spent watching football games! I currently have no quilts to bind, so I guess I will crochet while watching them. Someday I hope to crochet as good as GrandmaBabs. I also need to think about what to feed my crew for today and tomorrow. Needs to be something super easy as I am still recovering from pneumonia and get tired so easily yet. Hmmmm.
My DD and her team placed 3rd out of 25 teams in a volleyball tournament yesterday. She is pretty happy about that!
Hope everyone stays safe tonight! Stay away from any drunk drivers!!!

Staying home and off the roads tonight. I'm sure some football will be involved - I know Ohio State is playing later today. Going out in a little bit to run a few errands and then home for the night. 2016 has not been a good year and I will not be sorry to see it go. Looking forward to better things in the New Year, for all of us!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR M* FORUM FRIENDS!!!

We used to get some dip and chips, a beer for DH and a glass of wine for me and watch TV until the Ball dropped but we can't seem to stay awake that late so we're going out for an early dinner. Here's wishing the Bright New Year begins with only Good Things for us all.

Happy New Year to all,
I will agree 2016 has been a real bummer. Hopefully the New Year will be better. We are staying in also....have soda & snacks. Tomorrow we will have a little open house.....hot ham sandwiches, potato salad, creole beans &chips. Son and his family weren't able to join us for Christmas, as he had to work. So we will celebrate Christmas & New Year's together.
I found a bunch of orphan blocks this morning. Think I have enough scraps in my "never ending scrap pile" to finish them.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year. Kathy

Good morning, The sun is shining and the snow sparkles. My sewing room is tidy and looks inviting. Just the way a fresh start should be. 2016 was a tough year for me. I am looking forward to this new year. Hope all is well with you and yours. Change your needle and move forward. Gretchen

Happy New Year to All ~
I baked bread this a.m. The house still smells yummy. A friend from church came by this afternoon to help me with a computer glitch. Thank goodness, all is well now. I had no internet access for several hrs. It wasn't an internet problem, but somehow my wireless got turned off. It could have happened accidentally when I dropped the mouse on my keyboard. Go figure!
No special plans tonight. Let's hope & pray for better things in 2017.

Had a very quite day, but managed to finish my DD lap quilt which she loves!! DD, SIL & GS coming over for lunch new year's day so prepped the veg and trifle for dessert - we're having a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings!! We went to her house Christmas day so didn't have any leftover turkey!! DH very unhappy hence the turkey dinner at ours.

Anyway it's 12.55am here in England so time for bed. Can I wish you all the very best for the coming year!!

Happy New Year everyone. We had a nice day today. We went to one of dh's daughters houses for brunch to celebrate Christmas with them and also dh's birthday (it was Wednesday) It was a fun time. My step-daughters and their hubbies are always fun to be around. The kids (Max, 6 yo, Henry, 3 yo and Lily 14 months) gave us plenty to smile about . Then we came home and I prepared our dinner for tomorrow so that all I have to do is pop the stuffed shells into the oven and heat up the sauce. It's cinnamon buns for breakfast tomorrow. A New Year's morning tradition dh and I started on our first New Year's Day after we were married 13 years ago. I don't know why we picked that -- maybe because we never have them and really like them. :) It's a special treat to ourselves.
I plan on staying either in my pj's tomorrow all day or maybe sweats. We'll watch the Rose Bowl parade and laze around doing whatever we want.

We might head over to a neighbors tonight for a little bit. DH is falling asleep right now on the couch so maybe not. I don't want to be unsociable, but I wouldn't mind just staying at home and watching the ball drop from the comfort of my cozy couch.

Whatever you are doing tonight, enjoy yourself, stay safe. Here's to a good 2017.
