Wish me luck. I'm on my way to the annual fair they hold close by. They changed the set up and instead of two days, this year it's one. That's the good news. The bad news is set up is 8AM and it closes up at 8PM. I really don't know how I'll be able to stay awake that long. Last year 8AM till 5 was a long day!

Say a prayer for me. I need the money LOL. I do have more smaller items to sell this year and I'm thinking that might help.

Oh You are in my thoughts. After the first sale, the rest will come easy. You relax. Don't let them see the dollar signs in your eyes and they will want more. What things are you selling? We are all rooting for you.

I did much better than I did last year there (Last year I only made $60 I think ). It is a small craft fair but it's so close and nicely done. There are only about 8 of us crafters there but the products are good and hardly any duplications. I sold two quilts and 5 people wanted my business card for future quilts (of which I think two were quite serious). Another 5 asked if I would give lessons and they took my card. Another 5 were curious about renting time on my machine (I didn't expect much more of that). The rest of the sales were from my smaller items and that was pretty brisk. That was mostly keychains, zipper purses, fold and stitch centerpieces, a handspun and woven scarf and some of my handspun wool yarn. Our local high school is bearcats and I sold out of the smaller items of those. Lots of positive feedback, particularly on the Bearcats quilt I did but no one forked over the money to buy it. Also lots of people commented quite positively on my color choices and workmanship. (Always nice to hear LOL) So all in all I'm happy and won't have to cash in any of my very meager savings for another few months. Some people definitely remembered me from being there last year and one hauled out her keychain from last year proudly announcing that she purchased it last year and it's still going strong. Now that's nice to hear too LOL Oh, and one thing I did do different this year was to have a sign and tell people that there was an additional 15% off any marked item for the fair day. That perked a lot of people up, they became more perky and friendly. I do think that also helped sales and was worth it.

I did much better with staying awake and functional than I thought I would It went by much faster then I thought it would although a 12 hours day is still long. I was so afraid that if I got exhausted then I'd get sick (upset stomach which sometimes happens). But I faired well on that too. Carlie was a perfect angel all those hours at home while I was gone. I really worried about how she would do that length of time too. I got home, she was overjoyed and out the back door we went so she could do what she had to do LOL

Getting ready to tuck myself into bed with a book now!

So happy to hear it went so well! I know you must be exhausted but it sounds like you did very well with your sales and got a lot of interest from possible future buyers. I would say it sounds like you had a very nice day!!

Time drags by when you don't have sales ... so I'm happy to hear that sales were brisk and the time passed quickly. And I think Carlie deserves to get a bonus treat !

Vonnie, setting up a website is on my to do list. I do have a lot of the quilts and stuff in the photo section of my FB page but not it's separate website. The ideas of how I want to set it up are still spinning in my head and I don't particularly enjoy using wordpress for sites. A shame because I use to love doing that sort of stuff. When I set up my Tygart Lake Fiber Arts site I used Elegant Themes and I had quite a few problems doing it. I tried several of their themes before I got it right and there are still some changes I'd have made if I could have figured it out. I might try this one with a straight wordpress one and maybe that will be easier. I'll be lucky if I get this done before the end of the year!

Im so glad I didn't avail myself of the option to leave my stuff locked up in the Fair room overnight and come back today to pack it up. I woke up this morning and I'm lucky if I can get down the stairs to get my morning coffee. My back is so sore I can hardly walk! You know those metal chairs they give you to sit on are like Chinese water torture on your back. UGH. Carlie seems very non responsive and tired so far today. I think the stress of not having "Mom" with her took a toll. I suspect we will both spend most of the day in bed.........well, after I count my money again LOL....I like doing that

Congratulations! I was thinking about you yesterday and hoping things were going well. But you are right, that is a long day. Glad Carlie was good too.

Good luck setting up your website. I want to do the same. Get some rest today.

Glad it went well and it sounds like you made some great contacts for future sales!

I know about those "aches" when you over do it.

Does taking Alieve or Advil help?

I think Carly feels your pain. Pets can be very sensitive to their owner's feelings.

Seems both aspirin types and non aspirin types of aides cause me very bad heart burn for hours anymore. So it's like which pain do I want to choose. This years batch of St John's Wort ointment is about ready so I might try some of that tonight if it's not feeling any better. Usually I just take to the bed with a good book like I did today. It's usually will work itself out by the third day. I remember that Aleve use to work well for me so I might pick some of that up when I run to the bank tomorrow. I don't recall having bad reactions to that although it's been over a year since I've used that. But it might be worth a try.

Glad to hear the sales went well...that's so rewarding! Sorry you were in pain from it though! Hope you are feeling better today.
