The past two days MM has not felt well at all. He started taking his antipuke pills, to include a Compazine when he goes to bed. When he got up today, he said he is feeling better. Then there is me with my sympathetic chemo illness.....upset stomach, messed up throat (he has that), earache (he has this too!), and tonight a bloody nose. I never get bloody noses. I can handle all these things with me, but I just want him to feel well.

For over a year, our oldest daughter has had a lump in her right elbow. She has not been able to straighten her arm and has pain up into her neck. After Roger got his cancer diagnosis, her sister read her the riot act and told her to get her butt into the doctor! Well, she did and they have done tests and an MRI. She got her results back today. She has one of the worse cases of rheumatoid arthritis for someone her age (39) that her doctor has ever seen! He told her they were going to drain the lump and give her a cortisone injection. The fluid in the lump is too thick to drain, so they shot it full of steroids to thin it out and her body will absorb it they said. She is being referred to a rheumatologist, and I suspect she'll be seeing them the rest of her life. At least, maybe, she will have some relief now.

Oh.....one more week to go and they are all on their own! Think anyone would be offended if all I do at the retreat is sleep?

We'll be extra quiet so you can get some sleep!! But, hopefully, you can use the retreat to relax, recharge, have some fun and put your worries on the back burner for a little while. Can't wait to meet you!!

Pat they say when it rains it pours, lets hope this is as bad as the downpour will get.Is it possible that MM caught a bug or something at work? His symptoms are so varied.I hope your dd gets herself to a Dr. and can start regular treatments for her arthritis.Luckily today there is a lot more that can be done for medical issues.I hope you can at least catch a few good naps at the retreat.

With what MM is going through I think it is best to be prepared for anything. Our individual bodies don't always process medications the same way, thus, for instance, when watching ads for prescription meds on TV it seems the time spent talking about side effects seems longer than the time they talk about the actual meds.

As for the retreat and sleep, I'm thinking when you get together with that great group of forum members you will perk up and have a wonderful time!!

Have lots of fun...you sure deserve it!!!

Hope everyone is feeling better soon. Hope you get lots of rest at the retreat, but sewing can be somewhat restful at times --- right? Anyway, can't wait to meet you and everyone else there.

Gerri said it best, " As for the retreat and sleep, I'm thinking when you get together with that great group of forum members you will perk up and have a wonderful time!!

Sending hugs and healing wishes. Think of McDonald's old slogan: You deserve a break today.

Thinking of you and your family. Glad to hear that MM is feeling better today. Sorry to hear you are sooooo sympathetic. I hope you feel better soon. It's good that your daughter made it to the Dr's and has an appointment for the rheumatologist. They have many options available to help her.

The retreat is going to be SO GOOD for you! I'm sorry to hear that MM has been feeling poorly and your daughter as well. It's such a worry when loved ones are unwell. Enjoy yourself and the retreat and just take in all the great company you will be surrounded by and try not to worry about those at home without you. All will be fine. xox

Sorry to hear of these sympathy pains, thought that only occurred in pregnancy?! Your daughter will feel much better after she starts some badly needed treatment. And I love how you are able to hold onto your sense of humor through it all! Have a fabulous time at the retreat I know everyone will want to pamper you so just let them!!

Well, the day I told him I was going to cancel he got pretty cranky with me. So cranky that I decided to leave two days early and attend part of the birthday bash! I'll be gone an entire week, Thursday to Wednesday. I asked him tonight if he would be able to pick me up when I get home. He asked the time and I told him and he said he would leave work early.....uh, PM dear, not AM!!!
