View Full Version : GRRRRRRrrr....power trippy people drive me nuts!! VENT!!

When I started in my office there might have been 12 of us in total. Now our office has grown to over 30 people so needless to say, not everyone is gonna get along.

There is one person in particular who, as a person I really like and is very sweet...but as a colleague, drives me completely bonkers! Isn't that a weird dichotomy?!?!?

She very often plows ahead with things without knowing all the facts. She is also one of those people who sends emails that are incredibly....annoying....she always injects thank you's and accolades right before she goes directly for the jugular! So it's dripping with insincere niceties which I detest. And as i said, she often does this before having all the facts!

Sadly, much as you can't pick your family, you can't pick your colleagues either, so I basically just try to avoid as much contact with her as I possibly can...which thankfully my job permits!! But when I do have the occasional interaction I am always left with this gross feeling of annoyance!

Ok..rant over. Thanks! I feel better now!!

LOL. Glad you feel better. Office politics are complicated. I remember one person who you would swear was the nicest sweetest person ever, until she turned on someone. Then Good Grief watch out Not Nice at all. Best to stay out of all the gossip and drama.

Gee, it sounds like someone I used to work with who loved to order tote bags from me, and could be sweet as could be....when she wanted. However, she would file a complaint against in no time flat using words most people have ever heard before, forcing you to have to look up the meaning.....really????

It gave me great satisfaction knowing I have fmq'd bad words into her bags in places she will never see them. I am evil and I admit it.....

Bubba, doesn't it feel good to get the last word in, even if they aren't aware that it was there. Great job ! I got a good chuckle and will file that idea away for future use.

And Wendy, I hear you! We have one or two in our company that we really have to watch out for, lest they throw us under that proverbial bus... :icon_shake:

Sadly no...she's high up enough that they don't...which is equally annoying. And she's really a sweet person, most of the time...so how do you go "after" someone like that kwim?

Pat ...THAT is AWESOME!! LOL!!

Ugh! I know exactly who you mean .. I can still see her face a year later from my last corporate job in the medical field. A nurse practitioner who spent less than 6 months actually working on the floor throwing me under the bus (I worked 20 years on a hospital floor) ... She was fixated on one thing without actually knowing the patient and looking at the whole picture. I tried really hard to work with her to see you can't focus on one thing ,.. You need to look at everything. She didn't .. Wouldn't ... Couldn't get it. It's extremely frustrating no matter what field you work in. Hang in there. Document everything .. Hopefully this person will eventually be seen for who they are.
