My daughter, Christy, will be having a hysterectomy tomorrow morning, at 7:30am..... It will be an abdominal incision.. Due to her having a 9cm. fibroid.... They couldn't get it to shrink... I'll be at the hospital, eith her husband, David... She will be in the hospital for two days.....

David's mother will be with the four Boys...ages 17, 15, 12, and 10. I know they eill be scared... Their Mom is their rock.... She's an awesome mother....

Thanks...

Common or rare, all surgeries are frightening when it's you or a loved one going through it. I will keep your daughter firmly in my prayers that the Lord meets all her needs as she goes through this. The family is equally in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to all!

My mother had that surgery, and I have had 2 friends who needed it. It is a pretty straightforward surgery, and even though she needs an abdominal approach there are seldom problems. Once she is healed from the abdominal surgery she will feel so much better. Good that you can be a support for your son and dil.

Thank you...everyone...

The surgery went very well... No problems, and very little blood loss....which has been a concern.

David and I are sitting in her 12th floor room now... The view of Cincinnati is wonderful.

We will head home latter... David wants to have supper with the four boys...

Thank you all, again, for your thoughts and prayers...

Glad the surgery went well. Praying for a good recovery. Just make sure she doesn't get too frisky too soon. Follow all the dr.'s discharge orders, like no lifting >10 lb. for however long--usually 6 wks., getting plenty of rest, drinking plenty of fluids, etc. Don't be afraid to take the pain pills to keep the pain under control. I was amazed at how much pain I had after my surgery--but I had more done than just a simple Hyst. The healing takes time.
