A couple of weeks ago we had a local election and our local polling station is in the village church. As experienced readers of the antics of Famous Seamus, my Main Coon cat will know that along with the pub and Brownies the Church is one of his favourite haunts.

Voting lasts from 7am to 10pm and Seamus sat in the first voting booth on the left all day. I didn't know he was there until I went to vote at about 10am, voted in his booth (under his supervision) and offered to remove him and take him home. The officials however refused my (I thought kind) offer and said he should stay, there were queues to vote in his booth while others were empty and everyone was happy he was there and making sure there was no cheating going on. A few apparently commented to him that voting was secret and he shouldn't look but they nevertheless chose to vote in his booth.

At 10.10pm he walked in very tired and went to bed after a long and hard days supervising.

A pic of Seamus for those who don't know him

I nominate Seamus for ANY office - period. He is not influenced by emotional clatter, obviously. A true patriot.

This reminds me of something that would happen on Doc Martin. Quirky little village with quirky pets. Love it!
