View Full Version : Prayers Please

December 2nd, 2011, 04:03 AM
On July 30, 2010, I was told my services were no longer needed at the job I'd had for 3 yrs and 28 days. I was a temporary employee for that period of time...the company I worked for doesn't hire temps. You have to apply for a job that is posted and hope for the best. I apply for two jobs in the department I'd been in the whole time and never got an interview.

On Nov. 8, 2011 I started a new temporary job after being out for work for just over 15 months. I'm working in the file room of the HR department of a large corporation. To my surprise I'm loving the job and the people I work with. So today I asked if there was any chance that my temp job could become a permanent job. The answer was that the chances of being hired are slim.

I've got several medical problems that I've put on the back burner, so to speak, because I don't have insurance. I need a permanent job so I can get the insurance I need. During the 15 odd months I was out of work I applied for nearly every job I thought I could do and never got an interview.

Please keep me in your prayers so that I will get a job so that I can start seeing the doctor again. I know of one problem that I'm having (bleeding in my retina) and I'm suspicious of another (thyroid). And I'm desperate for new glasses!!

Thank you, everyone! My love to you all!

Dear Pam,

Hubby was out for over two years, so we know your pain. He finally will receive his first SS check on the 2nd Wednesday of December. Way too young and active to retire but can't find work. Luckily, he's a Veteran so he has insurance, I don't.

You'll be in our prayers to find permanent work and that healing light will ease your health issues.

Hugs, Ruby

Sent a prayer out right away....best to you

If only I had a magic wand!!! I would fix everyone's troubles. Hopefully, all the prayers being said will bring permanent employment your way. I'm most concerned about your eye. Isn't there some way you could see the eye doctor without insurance? Have you explained your situation to the eye doctor and the problem you're having with your eye? Maybe they would give you a discount and put you on a payment plan you can manage. It would be awful if you lose eyesight.

Oh Pam that is awful. I will pray that you find something or that something falls on your lap. I don't know how the system works in the US but check to see if there are any service groups in your area who could help. That is what they are there for. I know you don't need me to tell you that you should not fool with your eyes. Take care and best of luck.

Pam--praying for a permenant job for you and for your medical issues. I encourage you to find some kind of medical help--explain your situation, and if that office can't help, perhaps they can refer you to a clinic that will. Your health is so important! Don't put this off!

Praying for you.

Prayers will be said, Pam. This must be so scary for you. As others have suggested, have a chat with your doctor (or someone in the office) about either discounting your bill, paying on time or an agency in the community that might be able to help. It must be so hard to ask, though! What would you suggest to a quilting sister if she was dealing with the same thing?
Please take care, Pam.

Many healing prayers are being sent now, and i will add you to my bible study prayer group, our economey being what it is it is so much easier for companies to hire temps, thus, no benefits, whichs saves them thousands of dollars, but they never think of the person, yes we are thankful we have a job, but there are so many other things, doctors wont see us on a payment plan, and specialists like a retinal specialist like you need are so expensive its outrageous, but they perform an amazing service. If you have seen an opthalmologist maybe he can suggest a specialist and he can explain your situation and at least get you in the door...every now and then you find a wonderful doctor thats not all about the dollar signs. I will continue to pray for a good job with benefits for you and healing prayers to heal you....

Pam, saying prayers for you. I wholeheartedly agree with the others: go see someone about your eye for sure; saying a prayer you find a way to take care of this. Hugs. Megan

Prayers are uplifted. I share everyone's concern over your eye. Do all you can to get someone to check that out just as soon as you can. I am praying for that opening to turn up where you get a permanent position.

Before I lost my job, I was seeing a retinal specialist. But he turned me away because I had a balance of $200 and couldn't pay it immediately. I asked for a payment plan and they said no. I also lost my primary care doctor because I had emergency surgery and no insurance and ended up with a $2200 bill. I've asked so many times for payment plans and they always want to check my credit (which isn't good) or when they hear I don't have a job they just say no. My parents, God bless them, help when they can, but they're having money issues too!

I'll survive, I always have and always will. Thank you everyone! I love you all!

Oh, I almost forgot. I found out today that my days at the temp job have been cut from 5 days a week to 2 days a week.

Prayers for you Pam, you need to go to your local health dept. If they don't have an eye Dr there they can usually get you into one if it is serious. I know we have eye and dentist in our little town once a month. So you need to check with them.

December 4th, 2011, 03:26 AM
Thank you! I will check with the Health Department!

My dear--I am upset that you are going through this. There was a time when my husband and I did not have a job and we have 5 kids. That was a very tough time and I hate the memories. I feel your pain and I am sorry. I said a quick prayer and will continue to send prayers for you.

Sending well wishes from Scotland!

December 6th, 2011, 03:07 AM
It's official now. I'm only working 2 days a week...unless I can get another job.

December 6th, 2011, 03:23 AM
Pam, saying an extra prayer for you. I know it's scary out there, but with all of us praying for you I'm sure another part-time or full-time assignment will come through soon!

Hugs, Ruby

Pam and everyone else having problems this year, I will pray for you to get medical help. Is there a medical office at family services? You really need to get that eye checked soonest! I know what you are going through as it has been a rough year for us as well. Companies are just not buying things. It is so up in the air with the economy. And having all the talk of the president elections doesn't help. They always slow business down until after the election. I just wish they wouldn't start two years before it's time to vote! Hopefully Joe and I can get SS next year. Not that it's a guarantee SS will be there. The government doesn't realize they are forcing people to retire and/or go on public assistance. Oh well, I digress. Pam my prayers are with you and everyone else in this boat. Hugs, Jan L.
