View Full Version : Tuesday here I come

April 19th, 2016, 07:06 AM

Hello Folksies!
So, it's Tuesday. Another wonderful day in the neighborhood. Yesterday is now history and I can say I see light at the end of the painting tunnel. You may wonder why it is taking so long to paint a tiny kitchen. Wellsir, this place is 45 years old and when it was built, paneling was en vogue. That paneling is sucking up the paint like water. Two coats of Kilz 2 and two coats of one coat paint and there are still "holiday" patches here and there. I must admit to being the same type of painter as I am quilter. Which is to say, it ain't perfect but it will be done. I found some pleasing fabric on Connecting Threads.

Thanks to all for the pm's and suggestions - plus the offers of wish I were here to help you. I will take pics when it is completed.

My mom's middle sister is coming to visit this week. I haven't seen her in awhile and it will be good to give her a hug. She lost her hubs the other month and is beginning to come out of the fog that accompanies a sudden death. Sure, Uncle Frank was 91 but his overall health was enviable. I had Mom to the dr's yesterday for a croupy cough and she was given 4 scrips for a bad bad sinus infection. Hopefully the meds will have her up and about by tomorrow afternoon. I am glad that I have the worst of the painting done so I can get down The Hill and get everything ready for her visit.

That's about it in my fascinating life. Blessings, hugs, prayers for all here. Never forget that there is always something to be thankful for and as you reflect on those "somethings" SMILE.

It's Tuesday? Already? What happened to Monday?
Ok, I'll go with it. Hubs took yesterday off, so today I have to finish my party clean up. I plan on starting the packing in my sewing room. I have a lot of sorting to do so early is better. When he gets home from work it's a couple outdoor tasks we'll do together and then off to the hardware store to buy a few home improvement type things. Getting the house ready to sell is a huge part of this adventure. We can do this, we can do this, we can do this.
Yesterday was another record breaking weather day for us, and today looks about the same. I'm loving this, I need the daylight, it makes me SO happy! I really enjoy the way the birds sing right as the sun begins to set.
I'm going to get my coffee on and try to get busy early, before the heat hits! Wish me luck!
Hugs/Prayers and good thoughts.....

Good morning. The sun is waking up and it will be a beautiful sunny day today. I spent the better part of yesterday just cleaning up. Lots of dust when that wall came down. The floors were so filthy. I have to work today until 2 and then tomorrow again. Bonnie has invited me out on Friday to celebrate my birthday. There might be a quilt store involved.

Have a great day friends.

I hope today is better than yesterday....I ended up having to take DH to the emergency room. This is the second time in 6 weeks; my faith in the medical professions is not good. What is the sense in going to the hospital, and they can't find a solution to make a person well? The hospital released my DH with a "maybe this will get you by until you see a specialist"?

So, while waiting in the ER trauma room...the TV didn't work right, the ER doctor was indifferent, the trauma room and the bathroom facilities were filthy. I left the hospital to make some phone calls to hubby's family in Maryland and our kids, just to keep them up on hubby's condition. I stopped by the machine/fabric store I worked at last year (the store had recently moved to a new location and they were having a grand opening), hoping to pick up some English Paper pieces and mini charm pack, with the little extras to pass the time at the hospital....the store had none of the items I was looking for. So, I went back to the hospital to wait for over 3 hours before the hospital released DH.

I'm ready for Tuesday, too.....

The gas man is here... It's 6:45.... I thought I smelled gas when I went to out the little guys out.... So far, everything looks good... He turned everything off, and is now watching the meter, to see if a leak shows up... Wish me luck.... I can't drive, due to vision issues, so am stuck here...

Later in, a church friend is picking me up... We have a quilting ministry..... It's organized... Thousands if quilts are sent overseas every year.... Ten inch squares are sewn together, then we sandwich and tie the quilts.. Nothing fancy, but they will keep somebody warm... In October, all of the quilts will be brought into the sanctuary, for a blessing, before bring shipped off...

Warm weather is finally here.... Thank goodness.... Our winter wasn't too bad, but warm is always better than cold... At least for me... I love having my windows and sliding doors open..

Gas man says all us well...

Morning Everyone....My plans for yesterday went askew, so today I plan to sew, sew, sew. Yesterday I caught up with the laundry and part of the housework and the rest of it can wait until the end of the week.

Sherri, I hope your DH can get a diagnosis soon and can be treated.

Blondie, I love that fabric and think it will look great when it's shirred on your cabinet doors. We should repaint our kitchen but I want to keep the dark red and egg yolk yellow combo. I plan to put the quilt I'm working on now on the big wall in the kitchen behind the table and chairs.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day....

Yesterday I had a busy day with the arrangement of the house and with changes in closets, because the heat is already note and weŽll keep things warm and get lighter things, but today I will be able to spend all afternoon to sew and end things, also on Saturday I found out that I have another baby on the way, so I have to decide what type of quilt do and if I can use some of the fabrics that I have in my closet, and it is nice to mothers like to receive a craft and patchwork quilt, because here there are many people who work this tecnike.Blondie I hope that kitchen painting is finished soon and it is very nice, and not look small defects, Well hope that everyone in the forum feel good and be happy and I send smiles, prayers and mant greetings

Sherri, hope they figured out what was wrong with your DH and it is nothing serious.

Nothing new here. I am up to a 5.5 hour work day for the next two weeks before starting back to full time hours. Then I will be using up some vacation days and will take every Monday off until the beginning of July. I think I could get used to a 4 day work week!

After all the stress of the weekend I went home after work and slept from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Then stayed up until midnight and then slept pretty much through the night...so I guess I must have needed it. I'm a little groggy today mind you but hoping my tea will help.

Sending hugs to those who need them. Hoping someone hears from Divine Daisy soon. Been worried about her.

So pleasant to have sunshine every day and to see the trees leaf out - sure signs that Spring is here to stay. Guess it's time to get some lighter clothing out.

Cute fabric Blondie, nice touch for your kitchen. All your hard work will pay off when painting is finished and everything is back in place.

DH had his follow up visit with neurologist yesterday and all is good. MTI showed very minor signs of the mini stroke he had a few weeks ago, no after effects in his physical and mental well being so he was released from her care. That's a big relief. He will still keep regular appointments with his primary and cardio doctors as he did before the stroke, usually every 3 or 4 months or so.

Sherri, Hope your DH is doing better.

Yest. I added the last 2 strips of border on the Carolina Chain. It's set aside for now. I sewed labels on some baby quilts, washed 2 & spread them out on towels. I have 2 more baby quilts in the laundry this a.m. I need to make more labels for my latest quilts & get them sewn on.

I got a much needed massage yest. I'm in physical therapy & doing a home exercise program to limber up my L. shoulder.

DS #2 said they had a record high of 88 in Seattle yest.! Wow, that's hot for there, even in the summer time. We made it up to 60 yest. That recent snow sure helped green up the lawn. Of course, the dandelions & weeds are prolific as well!

Happy Tuesday to everyone!
