Hoot hoot! I am back to waking around 5 in the afternoon, so I am busy with sewing and crafts at night. I worked on a purse tonight. Now I am not a purse maker in the sense that some of y'all are, with the intricate sewing! No, I just put a new lining in an old purse and added an internal bag made from an old pair of jeans that I wore in the 80s. I also cooked up some turkey and beans in the crockpot for a Tex Mex burrito filling. Next I want to do some more counted cross stitch. How are things in your trees? :icon_wave:

Short school day here for spring conferences. After our conference we headed to Mom's to help her clear out my step-brothers room.
He bought a new house last fall, and still has most of his stuff left in the back bedroom. He is a slob. We threw out three sacks of trash. Poor Mom found his porno stash. That was not something she was quite prepared for. I'll help her pack up the rest of his stuff tomorrow. We were going to deliver it to the new house, but found out over the weekend he is in Vegas for a friend's birthday party. I guess we'll get it all staged, and run it over one day later this week.
I came home to a note on my door asking about Spyke, the dog I sent with Animal Control. Hmmm. I wonder how they found out the dog was at my place? Which one of you told? I'll call the ACO in the morning, and then go from there.
I am going to go cut up some fabric then go to bed.
What up in your neck of the woods?

Kim has woken up and Cathy is off to bed and I'm somewhere in the middle as I slept 3 hours and will be awake for awhile and then back to sleep. Puttered around the house today getting some Winter stuff washed and ready to be put away and general housecleaning. Started another bag of scraps, strips and squares to donate to my guild, this time it was oriental fabrics. Not much to discard although I did find 4 medium log cabin block that I planned to turn into a table top/wall hanging but can't remember who it was intended for. Also found a little kit with navy fabric and thick white thread for some type of Japanese stitches. Must have picked it up at a quilt show years ago, will keep it for some hand work while watching TV.

Really hungry but middle of the night snacking is not good. I'll just rummage around my nest to see if there is a fun bar of chocolate - just enough to keep me happy.

Good morning!

I hope everybody had a nice Easter weekend. We visitied the in-laws from Friday until yesterday and the boys came with us. It was a loooong weekend. My FIL likes a beer or two and then gets difficult to deal with which somewhat took the fun out of the visit. It was good to see them though as we haven't been there for a year.
I brought my small sewing machine but only got to sew in late the evenings so nothing major accomplished. I had problems with the bobbin thread looping. Rethreading didn't help, winding a new bobbin didn't help either. I also broke the automatic needle threader a couple weeks ago because I was so impatient. Maybe she needs to go to the doctor to be cleaned and taken care of. I got her four years ago and she hasn't been professionally serviced yet.

Work for me today, but first a visit to the customs office for a small package. Sometimes they open it and sometimes not. I don't get why they don't do it every time. That would spare me the trip to go there.

I hope everybody is tucked (back) in their nest or busy doing fun stuff.

Well, again, y'all are more productive than I have been. I've been having pain in the ear that I had the procedure done last month. So went to get a second opinion today from a different provider. She gave me 3 shots in the surgical area and some antibiotics. Suspect that cartilage was injured in some way and I have a 2-week followup.

I did go to the original provider last Friday ... talked to the lady who did the procedure ... told her of the pain and how it hurt when I laid in bed ... and how it woke my up when I was trying to sleep. She was leaving the office and told the girl at the front desk just to schedule a followup - and that would have been APRIL 26th.

Empathy from some medical offices is sorely lacking! Thanks for putting up with my vent. Off to see if those shots worked so I can get more than a couple hours sleep.

Judy, I'm sorry about your ear and I hope the shots helped! Andrea I'm sorry your FIL was a pain. That is difficult to deal with. My MIL was always a problem for me to deal with but she died a few years ago and things have been much more peaceful. I'm sorry to say it, but it's true.

I had a wonderful day today. I finished adding the borders on my quilt for the RV and it looks great! Tomorrow I am going to meet with a woman who does long arm quilting to see what she recommends for size of the backing and also check her prices. I also worked on a quilt for my great nephew and have his top almost completed. When I sew I listen to podcasts and today I was enjoying Mary and Marianne Fons's Quilt Your Heart Out. If you haven't listened to them, give it a try. It makes me feel connected with the greater quilt community.

Time to hit the hay, so good night to all you night owls out there!

That's too bad about your ear Judy.....Not much going on around here. I didn't even sew today, which is odd.....but I have been really tired as of late.
